I used to work at this brewery. When Banks Canada bought the brewery, they lost there master brewer. Management then hired local people rather than professionals to brew the beer, and maintain the brewery.
It was not long until the lines were infected, and the filtering and bottling machines broke down.
The result was infected beer, and improper carbonation. Poor product was sent to market, only to be returned. Eventually the brewery became bankrupt, and liquidated everything.
A classic example of poor management.

Located at the northwest corner of the bustling town of Carleton Place, the Hart Brewery has been an established landmark since 1989. It was recently purchased by Banks of Barbados and continues to brew a local favourite, Hart Amber. This brewery does not venture into anything new - they stick with their regular seasonals of a fall pumpkin ale and a (perhaps defunct) christmas cranberry ale. All in all a solid middle-of-the-road brewery... I’d like to see the brewmaster start experimenting again.
