78 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 17/20 womencantsail (415) Garbage Grove, California | June 2, 2013 Set back off the street, I initially walked by the place. Small interior restaurant area, but you can hang out outside and order at the bar (which is also small). Limited number of taps, but all pretty decent. Tiered pricing structure for the beer. Food was good. Service was very quick and friendly, too. Lots of hipster clientele. | 92 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 20/20 chris_knight (3) Florida | March 23, 2013 I love this place! I come to LA about 8 times a year and whenever I do I have to pop in here and chill with my friends. Last time I was in Johnny came over chatted us up and brought out a bottle of something he had tucked away in the back. This was the first time me or my friends met him, and I would say that was pretty cool on his part.
Keep up the good work BB, I’ll be seeing you soon. | 90 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 20/20 dchmela (100) Orlando, Florida | February 18, 2012 Great place in Koreatown. Small space, but rather stylish with a dozen taps and some nice bottles. Staff is knowledgeable about beer and they has a small but tasty menu. If you are in the area, you should visit. | 62 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 13/20 ajm (191) Los Angeles, California | October 19, 2011 I hate going here. The layout annoys me and it feels like it used to be a coffee shop. If you could take beer out front, then we’d have something. Lots of Cismontagne and other so-so breweries. Also feels like Johnny (the owner) is more of a capitalist than a beer geek, which I’m not cool with. #OccupyTonys | 90 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 18/20 BMan1113VR (311) Los Angeles, California | May 24, 2011 Great new place. Has only been open for three days. Free parking lot next door (which is nice for the area). A bit hard to see from the street. Inside has a bit of an industrial feel. Very clean. A small bar and many tables. Two big-screen TVs. Innovative iPhone controlled Jukebox concept for the music. A decent crowd for a Monday night. Bottle list isn’t quite finished yet, but there are quite a few rarities. 11 taps as of now. Mostly all local (LA/OC local), plus 2010 Abyss. Food is small plates, and was EXTREMELY tasty (especially for only being open for 3 days, a few tweaks and it will be absolutely stellar). Very friendly service, and decently knowledgeable. The owner, Jimmy, is a very friendly guy, and knows his beer pretty well. He really takes this place seriously, and I think this will become one of the top beer bar/restaurants in the LA area. I will be back. |
