Shop with a bar in the back. The service was ok, selection is nice, with vintage beers section and some of the beers not available in other shops I’ve been. Prices rather high but not stupid high. Good to see if first time in Brussels, but for revisit there are better places.

Me and Loz visited Beer Mania in Brussels on wet and grey afternoon on Saturday 21st March 2015. Beer Mania is a half shop half bar. The front part of this place was the shop with the back half laid out with a few tables and chairs to offer a sort of bar/tasting area. We browsed the shop part first, the prices for ’some’ of the beers on the shelves was frankly staggering. They had a vintage section with a few dust covered random bottles, one took my eye as I have a few of them at home, namely a 2004 bottle of Boon Framboise Mariage Parfait with authentic dust on it, it was a scandalous price, wait for it...yep..€94, an unbelievable amount of money for a beer that isn’t that difficult to obtain. In my eyes that is overpriced by at least €65-70. We had one of the Mea Culpa beers in the very posh and rather sexy glass, again at €55 just to purchase the glass, I thought another example of over the odds pricing, however the beer was jolly decent and reasonably priced. There were a few people in here and it was a pleasant way to while away an hour later, but there are much better bottle shops in Brussels, in fact we went to one straight after called The Malting Pot which seems to rather bravely buck the all to safe and traditional route adopted by most of the other Brussels stores as it sells a great selection of foreign beers. So Beer Mania is fine but I cannot see it being a regular haunt of mine, the bar lady was lovely but the barman/owner was a little rude and short with some customers.

Reasonably small shop by Belgian standards with a bar and seating area at the back. Really seems like a tourist trap more than anything with high prices and a not overly inspiring selection. Some vintage beers on the shelf with ridiculous prices. Particularly disturbing that they’ve been kept in a cellar for many years and now are just left to soak up the daylight. Wouldn’t bother revisiting.

Big store short walk from the center of town. A good selection of belgian beers. Prices are a little high, but not stupid like the tourist traps in the center. Not much service at our visit, had to wait a while to pay. Possible to have a drink in the nice patio in the back is a plus.

Came across the place more or less by accident while paying a visit to the comic strip shop nearby.
Nice selection of belgian beers, was a bit shocked by the prices of beers available in supermarket at much lower prices.
The owner was quite busy with some hardware / computer problems but answered my questions in detail.
Didn’t have any list with me, so I didn’t buy to much beers. I found a millevertus I didn’t know, some beers from Struise and just as I was about to pay saw the famous Westvleteren 12 costing, (12€ for a 0.33 bottle...) .
I thougt when will you come across this next time and bought one.
There is a very nice bar in the back of the shop, but as my wife was impatiently waiting for me outside, I will have to come back another time to sample it ;-)

Nice shop with a good selection of Belgian beers (no internationals). Prices are a bit upbeat, be aware of the fact that you can get some of the more common bottles for much less in a supermarket

Only customer, so got all the attention of the nice cashier girl in the shop. Took my time in picking some nice beer and drank one in the patio. Weather allowed that. Definitely of shop worthwhile visiting when in Brussels.

Small store with a bar. Service was non-existent until I was ready to pay... but the cashier was cute so +1. Selection is good, but not exceptionnal. The "vintage/rarity" section isn’t impressive to say the least. Price are a tad high, but not bad for Brussels. Not a bad beer store, but don’t make a detour if you aren’t in the area because you can probably find most of the bottles available at similar prices in many other areas of Brussels.

Got a tip from a local friend about this place and it was spot on. Visited a couple of beer-shops in Brussels and this was by far the best when it came to selection. I bought all three Westvleterns and some Struise, De Dolle and De Ranke. The price was fair. There was some vintage bottles on sale and a couple of rareties along the walls, not sure if those were for sale though. Has a small bar and serving area where you can drink store-bought beer.
