Brewery right next to the college but thankfully was not a very young crowd. Smaller second level with more seating. Wood flooring and tables all over the place, a sea of light stained wood. Offers lots of food options. What I had was good and what others ordered around me looked good also. Small back section as well. They have put tables and chairs everywhere possible in this place. Nice selection of well rounded beer offerings. Certainly worthy of another trip to sample some additional offerings.

Cool old school place in a busy university area. Parking was awful but it was worth the walk. Beer was good with decent food. It’d be worth a return visit.

We had some other events taking place in the University area so this was a likely stop for a refresher. Definitely has a vintage brewpub feel to it. Not in a dingy and dirty way, just in a classic not updated way. A fairly large open seating area greets you as you enter. The bar is mid-way back and has plenty of seating around it. All food and drink orders are done through the barkeeper, which can slow things down a bit, but it wasn’t too bad when I was there. I got a flight of their brews- all solid but no standouts. I also snagged an order of their large fries, my wife got a pint of cider, and we paid less than 15 bucks; a great value, IMO. The barkeeper was friendly and fairly quick, especially since she was taking all the orders and filling all the pints/flights. I wouldn’t call this a must visit unless you dig the old school breweries (which I do). Big Time offers solid but not memorable beer, friendly service and tasty food.

For a long time, this has been the place to stop in the U District in my opinion. Very old school feel. Leaves an impression that not a whole lot has changed since they opened in the 80’s. Space for 16 beers and ciders on tap, though only 12 were filled. 1 cask on as well. Nice location, though not brewery crawl location friendly. Very loud in here every time. Has a sports bar atmosphere a lot of the time. 4 big TV’s visible from anywhere in the main area. Great food pizza centered. Good happy hour. Some merch available. They will sell their beer for here from 4 oz to pitchers, and to go from 22 oz bottles to 1/2 barrel kegs. Not a must stop if time is a factor, but if you have free time on the North side, I recommend stopping in.

I work at UW. So, this brewpub is always around. And its the perfect University brewpub. Old wood interior, feels aged inside, common pub fare. Homey feeling, very nice staff. The problem is the beer has been inconsistent over the 2 years I have lived here. I have had some average beer but a lot of sub par beer. So, I have visited a good deal but nearly not enough for a brewery so close to my office. Not worth a visit unless you happen to be at the UW.

I don’t know why this place doesn’t get more love. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The beer is very solid. Anyplace that has a good imperial IPA and a good imperial stout is okay in my book. The food was very good also. The bartender was very nice, seeing as she was in charge of running the bar and taking orders. Everything is order at the bar, and there is no table service.

Very cool old school place in the University district, with about 12 beers on tap during my visit. You can do 4 x 4oz. beer samplers for just over $5. Beer quality is consistent and solid, with nothing crazy. Service is friendly enough and the atmosphere is very inviting. Definitely worth a stop when nearby.

You walk in to chunky furniture that is purely meant to survive students day in and out. The college vibe is here, but not overtly so. Service was nice and everything was serve yourself. Beer selection was pretty good, but all were pretty standard, nothing standing out. Food is casual and decent, but nothing I would specifically go for. A nice place overall if you are in the neighborhood, but nothing I would go out of my way for.

A Seattle/U-Dist institution. The place has had several great local brewers past through it. Lots of house recipes that rotate through with some standard handles. Place is well worn in with lots of character and a cross section of customers. Service is solid, prices are good and the food will work if you are hungry but not something I would go there for. Definitely worth checking out if in the area.

An old brew pub, 25 years at least, on the university main drag. A decent selection of house brews at bargain basement prices. Friendly staff. Decent bar food. I would be stoked to have a place like this down the street from my pad.
