54 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 6/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 13/20 ContemplateBeer (87) Louisville, Kentucky | June 6, 2013 I haven’t rated this? Crazy. Anyway, BBC 3rd & Main always reminds me of Cheers from the outside. I’ve only ever been downstairs, and it has that basement tavern/sports bar feel. A mix of elevated booths and tables, which kinda drives me crazy (why do we need to be tall when we eat?) but by no means a deal breaker. Selection is typical BBC taps with some occasional seasonals and such. Service is a mixed bag; friendly enough, but I feel like I’m pulling teeth sometimes to find out basic info about beers; a girl when I was there last time told me "I really don’t know anything about beer." Well... Food at BBC has always been fairly solid for me; I can’t remember ever having a meal here (but at St. Matt), but BBC does this much well. I LOVE that BBC will sell any of their beers in a half pint; this makes a trip to the pub very affordable; otherwise, beer and food are priced fairly. Not a destination in itself, but a solid part of the beer scene here. | 70 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 13/20 Chudwick (65) Cincyucky, Kentucky | January 4, 2013 Downtown near the yum! Center. Decent and knowledgeable service. Limited selection to bbc beers but carries enough styles to keep it interesting. Food is pub fare. Decent value for a downtown location. Decent ut not a treasure trove. | 72 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 14/20 b3shine (180) Cincinnati, Ohio | January 4, 2013 Stopped in with the wife while in town. Good location and ambiance; three floors (we chilled in the tavern in the basement). Staff were solid. Didn’t eat, But the menu looked good, as did the food. Decent draft lineup. Worth a stop if you’re in town (and is only a few blocks from Against the Grain). | 72 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 13/20 savnac (268) Anchorage, Alaska | November 7, 2012 Stopped here for lunch and brews. You go downstairs off the street and enter a nice bar area, I believe there was an upstairs area but didn’t venture up there. Service was excellent and we were provided free samples of some beers. Selection was pretty good with some special beers, IIPA, Bourbon Stout, ect. Food was typical brewpub style and pretty good. Prices were fair. Not a bad place to have lunch and try some beers, I know you could buy some 750’s to go as well. |
