Nice brewery with local beers. good food.

Service and food were ok. A few vegetarian options. A little noisy but ok to visit with some friends after a visit of the brewery and taste the beers. **

Good place to try different Carolus beers. Had the X-Mas beer, which was excellent and very different (licorice!).Beer shop offers very good value. So does the hotel, which is basic, but tisdy and clean.

Brewpub. I like their beers, but did not found it very cosy in there. ’t Ankertje aan de Dijle has the better "pub" atmosphere. Staff was not interested, slow and just as polite as necessary, not doing extra effort. Nice interior however.

Took the guided tour of the brewery. It was really informative, fun and highly interactive. Good selection of beers on tap and bottles. The classic being the best. Buying the beer from the beer shop is the best deal here.

Het Anker, conocidisima por sus excelentes cervezas Carolus. El Bar del lugar es muy bueno, pequeño pero acogedor. En cuanto a la selección, no se puede pedir mas que la gama de cervezas que elaboran, aun que si hablamos que se trata de una bar, eso podría no ser tan bueno. El precio creo que es bueno ya que si se toma por ejemplo, el tour guiado por la cerveceria se icluyen 2 degustaciones de sus cervezasm cuando en la mayoría de cervecerias unicamente se da una sola. Un muy buen lugar por el cual vale la pena la visita a Malinas..

The place has a lot of spark, and the Het Anker’s beers are in very good condition. Though served Mechelen’s specialty dish, chicken was tasteless.

My second visit and the bar seems a bit smaller than before but still a very nice place to knock back a few Gouden Carolus beers. Can’t complain about the selection, they have all the regular Carolus, bottles of Cuvee Van De Keizer and because of the time of year, also had the Xmas beer on tap. Cheese portion was expensive but worth it. Beers were excellently priced in the bar and the shop. Great place.

Very cool brewery with an all-copper brewhouse (including mash filter) dating from I think 1946. old dirty building but in a cool way. Got a great tour from the owner and then is was down to the bar for tasters before having a very nice lunch a the restaurant. Some of the best beers in Belgium as far as I’m concerned, and a wide range at that. Their blond beers are outstanding as are all their strong beers. The fruit beers are more just interesting. The food was really good actually, which I was surprised with for some reason. Hopsinjoor on tap at the brewery is mind-blowing stuff.

Visit 15/05/11 with the Gentse Biervereniging. Did the tour, had a nice meal. Service was pretty slow, maybe because we were a group or maybe because it was weekend, but still. Shouldn’t happen. Nice selection, Het Anker does of course have a very wide range of different beers, one for every occasion. The only thing they miss is a sour. ;-) Food was ok, nothing too fancy. Maybe a bit pricey though.
