Centrally located brewpub with a more or less traditional German interior and Italian cuisine. Service was a tad dodgy, the beers were good but a far cry from what one can get at the Bayerischer Bahnhof. Didn’t have food. Worth a visit but not a detour.

Visited the Thomaskirche during an overnight stop in Leipzg in ’09. Central location and that’s pretty much all it has going for it. 80’s feel to the decor, pretty naff - checkered bench cushions and cheap wood - you know the deal. Kept expecting some bloke in a biege suit and a moustache/mullet combo to burst out from beihnd a door and belt out some early 80’s Euro pop nonsense. Clientele ws largely middle aged diners when we visited (for beers only). Middle aged grumpy frau waitress - not impressed we weren’t eating! Tried both beers that were on tap that night - both inoffesive but boring. Wouldn’t go out of my way for this place other than for the rates!

As said before, a below-standard brewpub. Tried pils and hefeweizen, both below standard. Don’t bother really not worth it.

This seems to have escaped my rating notice in 2006, but I re-visited recently, in September of 2012, and things haven’t changed a bit. Their beers are kinda crappy, and they’re usually out of at least one (often the seasonal), the service is a little slow (generally because they’re busy) and has no clue about the adult beverages. Essentially a middling tourist trap.

Italian food

Nothing special. Been there, done that.

Brewery pub/restaurant. The premises are quite nice but with more of restaurant feeling. Outside the brewpub is a nice terrace/biergarten which is nice for a beer or two in the summer while checkingout the pedestrians. Beers brewed are the typical ones for German brewery: pils, dunkles, weizen and maybe some seaason beer.The beers are average, nothing special but surely drinkable. My visit are between 2008 - 2010, so I see since then their beer repertoire has also gotten better.

Right next to Thomaskirche. Pretty crowded place with only two house beers that are overpriced and not so good. The service was slow, even food didn’t look good. Considering all, this 20 minutes that I’ve spent here was more than enough.

I’ve been here several times, sometimes I like it, sometimes not. You are lucky if you have a German waiter/waitress, most are friendly. Some of the Italians not. Food is good, but I once had a really bad pizza. I prefer other places in Leipzig.

Weird place. Horrible German-style decor, indifferent German beers, and Italian cuisine. Have never sampled the latter, but from the menu it looks OK. Service is fine, noise level is fine, seating is fine. Still, I’d recommend getting in quickly, downing the three or four tap beers, then getting out, because this isn’t really much of a brewpub.
