Took the tour and learned a lot about them and their commitment to supporting the local businesses and community. The owner was friendly and informative. Samples were happily given before deciding what to purchase. Great place!!!

A must-stop if you’re in Columbus, especially in the warm-weather months. The atmosphere is awesome; very open, both indoors and outdoors. Service is great, and they have a nice selection of meads along with some guest beers, both on tap and in bottles/cans. Get the Apple Pie mead if you come here! I’ll be back.

Very fun place. Definitely worth a stop if you’re bar hopping in Columbus. It’s bigger than it looks on the inside and the service is quick and friendly. They even have a good happy hour. The beer selections are all local to Ohio and the mead is made on site. My only complaint would be the beer selection is too small. Otherwise I would have added more points to my rating. Be bold and try a Hot Shot.

Inspected online before venturing out on a dreary Columbus afternoon in a white Ford automobile with my good friend Andy. I visited him last year, and this is from that particular excursion. With no incentive to try Cosi out in the week I was present, we decided to barhop downtown. He wasn’t much of a beer drinker, so we came to a negotiated agreement we both could enjoy: an artisanal meadery. Luckily, Columbus not only had one, but they were open when I searched the words up on my laptop. For some reason, I thought Brothers Drake belonged to a Cincy address, but this only confirms that Columbus is just one wicked ass place to live. First off, and this is kind of on a side note here, but why do all meaderies, or all the ones I’ve seen, rather, occupy this outer appearance that forcibly screams, "storage unit mixed with modern industrial building"? It wasn’t ugly, but it wasn’t the prettiest thing to look at. Like so many before it, without their sign, I definitely would’ve pulled a JStax and driven by in an increased state of confusion and annoyance. BUT, this review won’t end soggily. I like this place -- it’s cool, cozy, and the employees were a lot of fun to talk to. The bartender was hip. They had a myriad of interesting meads on the counter behind the bar and on the walls which sat on top of shelves, and allowed samples of nearly all of the offerings free of charge. It was dead when we arrived, but this was assumedly because it was in the middle of the day and most people had stuff to do. The bartender said they’re busy (with a capitol "C") during the weekends and evenings. Although I enjoy a bumping crowd as much as the next guy, I’m glad we came on a dead-day and consumed mead without a bunch of hipsters screaming in the background, which wouldn’t totally ruin it for me, but it also wouldn’t improve the experience, either. I initially just wanted to go to try their Apple Pie, but after sitting and talking to some really nice folks and drinking their wonderful product, I can unquestionably declare there’s more than just one reason to visit this site.

5th AVENUE...not 5th STREET....call ahead and the food truck will stay open late, Tokyo GoGo truck...awesome. I wished this place was in my neighborhood ...village....town. Great group of real people who happen to hip, not pretenders. Live Music nearly every day. Beautiful glassware, varied seating, perfect place for a day long event---check events calender on the webpage.

Stopped in early on a Saturday afternoon. Aside from the place being difficult to find and driving by it probably 4 times, I have no complaints. There’s a parking lot just a short walk away. It looks like a warehouse from the outside, but on the inside it’s fairly modern. They had 6 mead taps and 4 beer taps. I ordered their sampler and was treated to 5 pours of their meads, all of which I enjoyed tremendously. The Apple Pie Mead was excellent. Very good service with each bartender that served me being quite knowledgeable about their meads and were genuinely interested in talking to me about them. Friendly environment. If I lived closer, I would visit this place all the time, especially now that I know how to get there!

(Visited 11/2012): Brothers Drake, which formerly occupied a storage garage in Worthington, now has a tap room on 5th and High. There is a microscopic lot next to the building, and street parking on Pearl.
The building shares space with Middle West Spirits, with Brothers Drake on the right side. The tap room is cozy with a bar along the back wall and a couple tables opposite. In the back part of the space there is a stage for their regular musical acts. There is a large board behind the bar listing what Meads are in rotation. White cinder block and wood motif.
Brothers Drake features many of their Meads both on tap and in bottles. On my visit they had many of their year-round offerings like Apple Pie and Bergamot Blue. I also tried a few new ones like Black Liquorice and Paw Paw. Their Meads are consistently good, and they offer flights of 5. The Meadery also offers a few Ohio brewers on draught and in bottles. The taps included Jackie O’s, Barley’s and Portsmouth on my visit. Bottled options included Rockmill, Hoppin’ Frog, Rivertown, Thirsty Dog and Brew Kettle.
Service at Brothers Drake is good. The bartenders were well-versed in their Meads and kept up with the crowd at the bar.
I did not try any food on my visit.
Overall this is a cool spot near Short North.

This is a really neat little place that was almost too hip for me to be there. Great wait staff, lots of the meads ready for drinking, and many bottles for take away sale. They had some guest beers and a full cocktail bar with signature cocktails they make with the meads. They had a little band playing. Next time I’m going to dress better. Really nice meads.

Brothers Drake is a small production meadery and bar just off the Short North strip in Columbus. There isn’t a huge sign or anything outside. The inside is rustic and small, with a stage off to the left, the production in back, and a small bar in front. Not many tables. I ordered a sampler of the meads; there were maybe 9 or 10 total available, and the sampler had 5. Really great stuff. They also had 2 taps, both of which were filled with Jackie-O’s. That was an absolute thrill for me and my buddy. The prices are fair for mead so be prepared for wine bar-like prices. Friendly, knowledgable staff. Very cool vibe here overall. Thanks to Puddintane for taking us here and TheBaldWizard for meeting us. This was my favorite place in Columbus. I will be returning, and spreading the word.

Small production in what looks kind of like an apartment building. Small shop at the front entrance with friendly shopkeepers. The mead is very good and they have a few different styles. No beer or food. Worth a stop if you like mead.
