Cafe Restaurant Amsterdam

Restaurant in a huge old and high building. Good to visit when everything at Westerpark is full. Lots of space, child-friendly. Small patio in the sun, next to the water. Nice to have lunch or diner, good food for decent to high prices, small beer list with some nice beers like ’t IJ IPA, but be prepared to pay €5 per bottle.

Sat here (live rating) Sun 10th March 2013. This is a restaurant/cafe that is housed in a large water pumping station, in fact one of the massive diesel engines is still intact and on display, there are also winches and other original features. This is a great building, beer wise it is limited with La Chouffe and Texel on tap along with Amstel and De Konnick a similarly limited bottle selection with a couple of Westmalles in an otherwise fairly drab list but this place is more for the building than the beer and besides I am happy with La Chouffe. Go to the end of the line Tram 10 stop Van Hallstraat the cafe is 2 mins walk away.
