More student- and family-oriented restaurant than beer bar, the Cambridge Common is never-the-less a great destination in Harvard Square. Service is attentive, but nothing special. Our waiters have not seemed to have deep beer knowledge. Selection is very good with 30 taps with at least a handful of rarities. They tend to lead toward IPAs if that is your thing. Food is good - mostly get the burgers and have never been disappointed. Overall value is very good - beers are not too expensive, and they tend to pour the high abv beers in shakers which is nice.

The ambiance is nothing special, service is only ok. But the beer selection is very solid with rotating seasonal taps, the food is pretty good, and the prices are outstanding. Great little place, and try the beer punch.

I researched Boston bars before going there and I was not disappointed. Easily accesible on Transit, good selection of craft beer - and cask ales at least one night a week. Casual local pub atomosphere beats out many bars with greater selections.

30+ beers on tap, options of getting a sampler set, correct beer glasses, not too many TVs, outdoor sitting, food is very nice for a pub, service - pleasant. Live music (and beer) downstairs as well. Had Allagash Confluence Ale

A cozy and comfortable place that emphasizes tap beers - 31 of them to be exact, plus one cask. Reminds me of Baskin Robbins’ 31 flavors. Not many bottle beers, though - a more hefty bottle menu would surly do well here. Food was OK - I had a burger which was decent, but not great. Worth a stop if you’re in the area.

The best beer bar I visited in the Boston area. Everywhere I went that was actually in Boston had only the standards on tap. Wish I could have stayed longer but was only there for lunch. Great service!

Nice little discovery for me. Nice warm, clean interior that sits over 100. Dark brown wood and painted red bricks. Nice large bar in the middle of the place. Cozy. 5 picnic tables on the front that serve as some kind of patio. Food is mandatory to drink outside but a cup of french-fries was good enough for them. Food is mostly burgers and sandwiches. 28 taps + 1 cask. Stuff they had include Cambridge Brewing Aequebus (!), Ithaca, a few Opa Opa, 21rst Amendment, etc. Good selection. Bottle selection is rather limited but the tap selection is good enough for me. I was there in a quiet afternoon so I don’t know what type of crowd this place has. I suspect a student crowd. A place I will go back to.

Excellent spot quite close to Harvard. 30 taps with a plenty of New England stuff which was just what I was looking for. Sat at the bar and worked our way through 8 of them on a pleasant Sunday afternoon. Don’t know how frequent the rotation is as, despite intending to return, I never did for one reason or another. Friendly atmosphere meant that we chatted to various barstool neighbours throughout the afternoon. Service was prompt and friendly. Prices were cheaper than the norm in Boston with some options at $3.95 a pint. You can also do a 4 beer sampler should you choose. Didn’t eat.

Ordinary appearance from the outside and inside as well, but the tap selection is rather good with regional craft beer being the focus and hoppy beers in particular (Flower Power, among others). Troeg’s had a presence as well, and it was hard to pass on this great amber. Service was friendly and knowledgeable, with little resistance to allowing me to sample one or two prior to ordering. Prices were normal for the area. Nice location if doing a pub crawl between Davis Square and Harvard Square.
