Stopped here when I was killing some time. Itís next to a small deli, and since I had already eaten at the Taste of Carolina, I wasnít hungry. There are a number of Carolina beers on tap, nothing spectacular, but certainly worth hitting if youíre not from the area and want a few NC beers. Staff was quick, nice. Area of terminal that this was in was pretty quiet.

Visited: 1-13-12 I stopped in for a quick one while on my lay over from Tampa to Buffalo. This is for people who heading out, not for casual Joe to coming rolling up to. A: It seemed to me to have more beer lovers than BMC lovers when I was there. Given the circumstances, its the best airport bar Ive ever gone to. Q: They featured 7 locals tap (most of them I was familiar with)(2 Foothills, 2 Olde Mech, 2 Carolina Beer Co, 1 Red Oak) and were better than most bars you will visit in the charlotte area, let alone in an airport. S: The bartender knew the beers fairly well when questioned S: Of the 10 taps, 7 were local craft which for an airport, is much better than average in my book. V: Well, your in an airport so be prepared to pay airport prices. I paid just under $8 for my pint of FH Hoppyum IPA. Overall, the best you are going to find in the Charlotte Airport (and most airports for that matter).

A fairly quick stop for food and beverage between flights. Staff is friendly and understands your need for speed.

Stopped by during a layover in the Charlotte Airport. I was expecting to be able to try several beers by Carolina Beer Company (as the name suggests), but it turns out that they only have 1 beer by Carolina beer, a couple by OMB, and then a few macros. The beer I had was pretty mediocre, and with a $8/pint cost, I wouldnít bother coming back.

Itís at the airport. Airport BBQ sucks, duh. They have maybe 4-6 beers on tap. Most are crappy, but at least they are local. Itís the airport. The world would be worse off it didnít exist in my terminal.

Two of their four craft taps were out when I was here so only had a chance to try two. Nothing wonderful for beer lovers but itís something for an airport at least. The Foothills Hoppyum was surprisingly decent.

An airport bar at the end of Terminal D. Beer is pricy, but thatís par for the course at an airport. Service is friendly, but a little slow. They had a decent but limited selection of craft NC beers along with macros and liquor. Nothing special, but worth a stop if you want a beer while you wait.

If youíre in Terminal D, this is where you should saddle up. Foothills and other locals on tap. Nothing special food or beer-wise, but thankful there was something decent to drink while in the airport.

Despite being tucked WAY away in the least convenient spot in the airport (at the very end of Terminal D), this is probably the best spot in the Charlotte airport to grab a beer. They only have 6 brews on tap, but 4 are local, and you can get some options that arenít the standard "every bar everywhere has these." I tried a couple Olde Meclenburg beers, and quite enjoyed them. When Iím back in the Charlotte airport and want a beer, this is where Iíll be heading.

Two OMB brews, one Carolina and a macro. Bar is tucked into a restaurant at the very end of Terminal D, open to the end gates.
