Samuel Smiths Old Brewery Bitter (Cask) | 4% | 3/17/2024 |
62 Traditional dark city pub serving Sam Smith ales |
56 Corner pub just up from the Harp pub and opposite the National Portrait Gallery. It has a traditional interior, decent enough, with very little natural light penetrating the inside, so the atmosphere is quite dark throughout the whole of the day. Being tourist central is serves food, and also only its own brews as this is a Sam Smiths concern. It does have its cask bitter though here complimenting its most regular keg brews. |
62 I go to this pub quite a lot as it’s always a good meeting place and I have a fondness for the brewery. A largish pub so normally some space amongst the tourists and always a cheery atmosphere. If you stick to the taps they are pretty good value - although I was surprised the first time I ordered bottles in a Sam Smith’s pub. Not a particulalry attractive or trendy pub but I like it (the booths are always good to sit in with a bunch of mates). |
62 Tourist/young person trap across the street from the National Gallery et al, but a cozy interior. Had lunch here as we had just gotten off the plane and were starving. Decent steak and kidney pie and fish and chips, and the beer tasted just fine. Bartender was actually a sweetheart and was doing a commendable job as the only server/bartender during lunch. As Leighton mentioned, go to the Harp, but this place wasn’t bad. |
52 Classic styled medium sized English pub, quite old. Lots of wood. Some locals, some tourists. Dusty and musty atmosphere. Quite a lot of sam smiths available, which is ok. I prefer more modern styled English bars. |
62 We had some beers at The Harp nearby, but headed for this spacious pub for lunch. The dining area is upstairs and quite nice. One cask beer but several keg beers and lots of bottles. Got a couple of Sam Smith’s ticks and a decent meal. (Visited February 28th 2014) |
56 Atmospheric pub near St Martin in the Fields. Sam Smith’s, so the cask ale is cheap but the bottles are incredibly dear. Try the upstairs bar, where you can people-watch out the window. |
70 Visited this pub lots of times, and it´s almost a must to go for a fish and chips and an Old Brewery Best Bitter, whenever I am in London with my parents :-). The pub has a very cost, relaxed atmosphere, the staff are very friendly and it seems people come here to have a good time and meet up with friends. Beers are in good condition, the food is traditionel pub menu, and it is rather cheep, baring in mind where this pub is placed.. And we will be back next time, we all go to London.. |
62 Fairly nice Sam Smith’s, less scruffy than many, very packed with tourists near Trafalgar Square. |
72 Been here so many times on different visits over the years, and I always enjoying having a pint in this elegant but fairly relaxing setting. Right in the thick of tourist central (and hey, I’m a tourist) but nice if you hit it at the right time. Selection isn’t the greatest but I have a soft spot for this brewery and its pubs. Certainly a good place to stop if you’re in the area for food and/or museums. |
