decent selection of locals, Had a barrel aged against the grain. College party bar with decent selection.

One of many solid places within close walking distance on or around King Street. This place was basically just a sports bar in ambiance, and catered to the college crowd quite a bit (at least during the duration of my visit). Decent tap selection for sure, heavy on locals. Enjoyed some Westbrook and Holy City but didn’t stay overlong, as the ambiance was a bit of a drag.

Came in here on a Wednesday night to catch a game. Good for that- plenty of screens around. L-shaped bar with some booths and tables. Game tables in the back. Slow night- C of C was on break. Good tap list; 8 local handles plus more regional and national craft taps. Solid list. Didn’t try the food. Prices were fair. No small pours but 4-beer samplers were poured. Great location on King- only issue is parking. Overall a solid place to get a beer. Worth checking out if you’re in the area and have time.

Longer L-shaped bar with a sports/college bar vibe. Pop-a-shot and some pool tables in the back. A good amount of local beers with typical craft favorites. Filled up with college kids on a weekend night when school wan’t even in session, I would imagine this place gets pretty rowdy when school is in session. Pretty cool place, not necessarily a craft beer "destination", but if you’re bar hopping in the area it’s definitely worth stopping in, and if you’re looking to party and get weird, I’m guessing this is a good place to do it when school is in session.

Decent sports bar type place with some good beers on tap but nothing too special. Nice local beers though.

Hit this place during happy hour on a recent trip to Charleston. Typical sports bar with lots of tv’s and a few pool tables. Good selection of craft beers on tap. Mostly local stuff, though. I didn’t eat but they had some tasty sounding wings and good prices during happy hour.

I’ve stopped in for a beer and found EVERYTHING halfway decent on tap was tapped out. I hope they consider a new beverage manager. A decent ambiance to enjoy a beer at the bar. The have TV’s for sports enjoyment. Usually pretty crowded on the weekend. A bar that could stand to raise the craft beer bar on upper King.

This place looks a lot like your typical sports bar, perhaps a touch on the dive-bar side, but I wouldn’t call it a dive bar. I hit them up at an odd hour and got good service, but it wasn’t exactly busy at 4 p.m., either. The selection was better than your typical bar, but not great. I had a couple of the Coast beers before heading out. This is a good stop if you’re in the area, but not worth going out of your way to visit.

Student dive/sports bar kind of place with an emphasis on the TVs. They do have a fairly wide range of draft handles, certainly by Charleston standards. They are a reliable place to find Coast Brewing products.

Loud place with some features of a sports bar and some of just a regular watering hole. Had some of the harder to find Coast beers available, which was great. One of the few places in Charleston to stay open past midnight. Mellow Mushroom is another and it’s right down the street.
