52 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 6/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 10/20 Quevillon (192) Sainte-Thérèse, Quebec | March 4, 2013 Visited Feb. 28, 2013, in the afternoon. I was not thinking of going there, so it was just an afterthought. I’ve seen their website so I had a good idea what they have, not much and it was the cas. A Lot of taps, but mostly Labatt/Inbev stuff with big name microbrew and two or three smaller microbrew taps. Much more in bottle selection, but they seem to be limited to one distributor. They have Charlevoix, Naufrageur, Pit Caribou, Bilboquet and others I forgot, but no Dieu du Ciel, Hopfenstark or Trou du Diable. The food looks nice, pub style, but I don’t know I want to eat there because it would mean i would have to go back. The pub is located next to Gatineau Park info center. Now if your camping there, it’s ok to check out the place, but if your visiting the park for a day, don’t bother your self. Bring a picnik or eat at Mackenzie King Tearoom and have a beer in Gatineau or Ottawa. | 60 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 12/20 Boutip (53) Gatineau, Quebec | April 25, 2012 Nice little restaurant located close at the entrance of the Gatineau Park. Nice bog patio is great for stopping for a beer when coming back from outdoor activities in the Park. Good selection of QC micros (Charlevoix, Bilboquet) with a couple of taps. Food is pretty good though maybe a tad expensive for ‘’pub’’ style food. They are currently working at expanding the restaurant to include a brewpub which should makes this place even more interesting in the future. | 52 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 5/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 10/20 pushkinwow (70) Ottawa, Ontario | March 23, 2012 If you are in the Chelsea area, perhaps having just stopped in at the le nordic, this is a close alternative to some hull and gatineau options. A nice old style pub, no tv’s, food is tasty (although watch out for processed cheese on things like the burger which is sacriledge as far as I am concerned, especially in Quebec). 5-6 taps usually featuring Quebec micros which rotate fairly often; also usually 1-2 brewery features in terms of bottles with 3-4 different bottles per brewery. Its a nice place to come and relax for a beer - not the same as some of the better beer locations in the area but nice nonetheless. |
