On the fringe of the city proper, this JD Wetherspoon pub is unmissable looming over the roundabout of the same name that is busy throughout the day. So is the pub as it has a car park and plenty of urban housing for a capture area. The inside of the pub is traditional and not unfamiliar to other outlets of this chain, but with a darker wood look than older establishments of this kind. The bar is central and the extensive open plan stretches around it as an irregular semi-circle. It sports three rows of ale pumps! There’s plenty of places to sit and lots to read on the walls including a large dedication to George Harrison in one of the frames.
