Had some lunch and a sampler of all beers on tap. The kolsch and pilsner stood out for me, with the others being fairly standard. Good food and service. Solid place - just not huge on the German styles of beer.

Really cute little place down by the harbor with good food and decent mostly German-style beers. Excellent personalized service (I was in the area on business travel and they made me feel right at home). Had tasty locally grown/made food as well! Nice asset for the area.

What a super place. I’ve been a big fan of the brewery, and a visit in person does not disappoint. Tasty food, great service, nice homey vibe, flight of six super beers on tap. I love it.

Drank some beers at the small bar. Not much to see, but the beers were pretty good if a bit bland. Not worth going out of your way but a decent stop.

The service here is without comparison as it doesn’t get better. The two women we dealt with were very helpful and friendly. They had many fine lagers here and the food was good. The location was cool and had a hippie vibe combined with a down home feel.

Visited late-afternoon on a sunny May afternoon. Very modern and clean looking brewery with an equally clean and new looking brewpub across the driveway. Sat at the bar, took advantage of the free wifi to get some work done. When I visited they had 6 of their beers on, and I ordered from the happy hour food menu. Really good quality and value on both beer and food. Service was good, and nice friendly local crowd. I’m glad I had the time to make the drive to Bellingham.

Surprised this wasn’t listed in the Places section yet. This is the 2009 GABF Small BrewPub of the Year. Brewer/ owner Wil Kemper is unique in that he makes make craft lagers here rather than ales, so the beer selection is what you’d expect to have in Germany rather than other microbreweries in WA State. Servers were very knowledgeable when we were there. Had the Schwartzbier and Bock, both of which were superb. Food is excellent, with specials constructed from fresh local ingredients. Great entertainment on the weekends. Didn’t feel particularly cozy, though, so need to go back a few more times to get a more accurate vibe.

great little spot. nice clean brightly lit brewpub with the brewhouse across the parking lot. local art, artifacts, and community info on the walls. great plugged in local feeling. friendly service, nice kids on staff. good tenders and servers. always six ck beers on, with coming kegs listed. awesome pub grub. everything about this place is solid. definitely be back. gorgeous sunny drive up this morning with plenty of hawks on the wing. great scene.

Excellent brews. Lousy atmosphere. Average service. Very good variety of beer. Overly fussy food at too high a price. Beer value good, food value terrible.
