We stopped in here on a Friday around happy hour and it wasn’t too crowded, despite plenty of pedestrians around and plenty of trouble parking. It’s in the heart of the King Street stretch, which is busy and full of shops and students and tourists. Really nice interior, well done and modern and hip, with a friendly staff. The only knock on the atmosphere is that the location can draw some annoying patrons. The beer list is great, with a broad range of stuff represented. Nice coverage of locals and regionals, with interesting national stuff, too. The food is really good, as well. Prices are fair but on the high side. Overall, well worth a visit and one of the best beer spots in the city.

This place should be excellent. It has a strong, varied list that places the right emphasis on local v. national. It has a funky-cool interior, comfy seating, a cozy bar that encourages consultation with the barkeep or the servers (who know their stuff). It has everything you want a craft beer bar to have. Except.... the clientele, and the management’s insistence on maintaining a certain atmosphere. Every time I’ve been here, the place has been over-run by a group of loud, drunken, boisterous bros-on-the-roam. Management invariably allows them to make a loud, raucous mess, the kind that empties out the rest of the place. Every time. So go, be charmed, but know how it’s gonna end.

A cool little place off the main strip in Charleston, hipster vibe with a bunch of cool odds and ends all over the place, some beer paraphernalia, some not. Service was decent, not the most attentive, but we were sitting in these lounge chairs, not at either the bar or a table, that being said, they were knowledgeable. Selection was solid, lots of local and regional options with good stuff from the opposite coast as well. Definitely an awesome beer bar in an awesome beer town!

First place we went when we flew into Charleston. Great little place with a wonderful vibe. Mid-day crowd. Good service. Server was very knowledgeable and helpful. Food was excellent, even if it was on the pricy side. Great selection of local/regional brews. Well worth a visit.

A modern, stylish bar with 30 taps, all of which were interesting and there were lots of beers made locally or in neighbouring states. Well worth a visit. (Visited 16 February 2014).

42 taps, hipster joint with the best selection you’ll find in Charleston. Food is limited. Go here for the excellent selection of beer.

A funky dive bar feel, but done in a newer, kitchy kind of way. Felt a little inauthentic I thought. But that’s just the decor. The vibe was bustling yet laid back. Service left a little to a lot to be desired. Beer selection was great with a fair amount of local stuff.

A cozy bar in downtown Charleston. A smallish bar, lots of tables close together, couches by a faux fireplace and seats at the front of the bar with open windows that overlook the street. Cozy chairs too (no hard bar stools!) Lots of interesting decor along the walls (old ads, posters, stuffed wildlife, steins, etc). Very solid tap list- 42 taps plus 1 cask. All styles are well represented. They have a small but decent selection of locals (Riverdog, Coast, Westbrook, Holy City) and some regionals like Against the Grain, Highland, Lonerider. And some interesting offerings from Birrificio, Local Option, Evil Twin, and others. I didn’t order any food (the menu is mostly sandwiches). Definitely a good stop in Charleston, great beer list, though I think Craftsmen is slightly better.

Stopped in while on vacation because a friend had highly recommended it. Was not disappointed! Coolest. Place. Evar! It has a style all its own. Service was decent but not super attentive. The beer menu had lots of local and national gems. Food was great! I had the Pork Slap sandwich and really enjoyed it. Prices were in line with other pubs. Overall: I wish it was in my hometown!

A very impressive gastropub that has a great tap list. King Street seems to be a real hub of activity in Charleston, so it was unsurprising to find this place pretty busy during lunch service. I scored a spot at the bar and found the service to be quite attentive. The 40ish taps were very well curated. A broad range of styles were available - beer geeks and casual punters alike had plenty to choose from. The focus was mainly on local beers (Quest, Westbrook, Holy City), something I appreciate. The food was absolutely fantastic southern pub fare. My fried chicken sandwich was a superlative example of how good simple food can be when it’s done right. Prices were reasonable too. Overall, a must-stop location. I’d be a regular here if I lived in Charleston.
