Definitely running the risk of being tragically hip but ended up being rather comfortable. 30+ on tap that includes some locals you most likely won’t find anywhere else. Food was nice and fresh. Nice little stop if you’re in the area

Love the look of this place, the pizza is OUTSTANDING, and they have a decent beer selection, for a restaurant.

Cool little place with a decent beer selection and great atmosphere and decor. They’ve got a few too many mass market beers, but also some unexpected gems

Usually has some good brews on tap. GREAT pizza and friendly staff. Atmosphere is great. My only complaint is that the beer never seems very cold. Not the selection of The Birch, but much preferred due to the great food and FRIENDLY staff.

This was a cool pizza place with about 30 taps. 2 of the beers i did order were out but they still had a couple i didnt have. They carried all of the O’Connor beers, which was nice. The blond behind the bar was nice and attentive. I will certainly go back and try the pizza some other time.

This place is a classic. Formerly a hole-in-the-wall music club, it got shined up around 7 years ago, but retains the cool vibe. 33 drafts, something for everyone. Niche beers, watery beers, solid micro-brews. When the pizza is on, it’s among the best I’ve ever had. Likewise, the service. It’s not always on. Notable current drafts: Ommegang Abbey Dubbel ($5 12oz.), Aventinus ($4 on happy hour for 16oz.) Bell’s Two-Hearted Ale ($4 for 16oz.) BBC Bourbon Barrel Stout ($4.5 for 16oz.) and Lagunitas Brown Shugga ($5.5 for 16oz.)

First time I’ve been back to Cogan’s since moving from Ghent to D.C. a couple of years ago. The biggest change - it’s non-smoking!!! Who would have guessed that the Tobacco State would take the plunge?!!?!?!!! Nothing else has changed - the pizza is still pretty good, very creative with a decent crust. The exact same people hang out there. It’s slightly grungier, but in a lived-in sort of way. 33 taps, but with lots of things like Bud Light taking up unnecessary space. Worth stopping in for the people and the pizza, beer is so-so.
