66 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 14/20 Dogbrick (567) Columbus, Ohio | February 28, 2013 (Visited 01/2013): Cootie Brown’s is located on Roan Street not too far off I-26. There is a private parking lot.
Past an enclosed patio, the inside opens up to a host stand that features delicious looking pies. The restaurant has a kitcshy feel kind of like Joe’s Crab Shack.
DId not come here expecting to find anything decent in the beer department but they have a few worthwhile selections. No taps but around 50 bottles, including some local and regional beers from Depot Street, Highland and Yazoo. A couple other domestic craft breweries plus several imports.
Service on the patio for a weekday lunch was courteous and efficient. Again not a beer place so I had to deal with a stout served in a frozen mug.
As for lunch, the "Real Food" (with quotes) on their sign was amusing, and the food is actually decent. Our sandwiches were good, and the place does have some great looking desserts.
All in all I typically stop at places like this so it was a nice surprise they actually had a few worthwhile beers to boot. |
