Nice pub with cheap food. The beer selection is only Belgian, as it is in most Belgian pubs. Decent, but nothing spectacular. Good atmosphere, the best beer place in town as long as Stillen Genieter is closed (and the appear to be closed most of the time, so write the address of d’Afspraak down if you are going to Mechelen).

Great beer menu for what is really a restaurant. Simple food at reasonable prices.

Located in a former mansion, this is a café as it should be: not too big, beer paraphernalia, eclectic furniture (hardly 2 chairs are matching), soft music, and one HUGE beer list. They have over 100 Belgian beers, some of which you won’t find easily in your regular beer bar. The service is impeccable, these people know what they are doing, and why they are doing it. Always helpful and knowledgeable about what they serve. The food is quite good as well, ranging from small snacks to dishes you won’t be able to finish by yourself. Only negative point I can find is the "acoustics" - when it gets crowded, it tends to get a little noisy. A personal favourite by far.
