Located in the nicer part of the pedestrian zone in Eindhoven, this place is a spacious pub with an upstairs patio and several tables outside. The selection is acceptable but not breath-taking: 10 taps with Belgian macros and, fortunately, many more bottles, although they do not include any rarities. The staff are friendly but just that. The food is okay - I had the home made fennel soup for lunch. Not exactly cheap but quite enjoyable. I will not, however, go out of my way to visit it again, like I did today, on my way to Antwerp and had to wait for an extra hour before it opened.

Nice place with a terrace outside. A good selection of beers but few surprises. Friendly staff

filled place , nice and cosy enviroment . they declare themselves to be ’the place for beer ’, but with van moll just a few meters away, i doubt that ... they have moslty got belgian standard beers , plus like 5 dutch beers . on top of that they happen to have flying dog’s raging bitch . she told us she had more from the same brewery, and gave us a left hand milk stout ... yeah ... i asked if she had more american stuff, she told me she didn’t . than i found not 1, but 2 anchor beers in their fridge ... so yeah, knowledge ... service is friendly, but also slow ... the crowd moslty came for leffe ( sigh ) so that gives you an idea of the ’specialized beer menu ’ it was a bit of a shock, than, that they had anchor beers . we gladly took the chance !

Visited on a Thursday evening. Spaceous 2 storey bar, dining area upstairs, bar downstairs. Lots of wood and beer decorations, nice brown café atmosphere, taps weren’t very special but they have a nice bottle selection with a few rarities. Food was nice, not too expensive, service attentive. Would certainly go here often if I lived in the area.

Lovely authentic looking place. Lots of beer signs. Nice selection of beers. Nice service, orginal glassware. Not going to try the food.

Been there once. It was a nice quiet place when I was there. From what I remember it was mostly a large selection of Belgian beer. Must re-visit this one for a better review

Decent place. A lot of Belgian beers, but I didn’t find any of the beers I was looking for. Must re-visit some time. It is however the best place in Eindhoven.

Easily the most interesting selection of beers in Eindhoven - not that that is particularly difficult. Occasional surprises to be spotted in the fridges.

Visited ’DE Baron’ on several occasions on a recent trip to Einhoven. The beer seletion is good abd i sampled 7 or 8 new ones. The food is excellent and they catered for my partners gluten allergy by making special sauces and cooking chips in clean oil. The only 2 negatives are the knowledge of the staff on the different beers they serve is poor or non existant and on one occasion the waitress/barperson kept dipping the glass in soapy water and handing me the glass with soap bubbles still in the glass.

Visited on a Sunday afternoon.
Nice interior, good service, though not all are equally knowledgeable about beer (In fact, I doubt if even one of the 3 waitresses knew really much about the beers they serve).
But service is good, beers are served with the proper glass, and all beers are on display in glass-front coolers, so this was not a big problem for us.
The selection seemed to be made by someone with an eye for it, as there were quite some nice beers to be enjoyed.
