Small cosy place, just one block from one of Utrecht’s main streets. The owner knows what he is talking about and has a very good selection. Not the usual Belgian stuff, but a lot of dutch micro’s and a bit of Brewdog, Port Brewing, etc.. They serve some interesting cheeses to accompany your beer. My number one in Utrecht so far.

Pretty good new, if traditionally small, outlet. Selection was interesting and reasonably priced, service was good.

Visited on a Saturday evening. Cozy bar, looks a bit too new maybe, but it’s nice and clean, combines old and new in the interior. Music is very soft, if present at all. Bar is run by a former Arendsnest employee and his wife, both great hosts, trying to maximize personal attention to the customer. Well thought out bottled beer list with some great little breweries mostly from NL, but also some French, USA and Belgian stuff. I thought prices ranged from cheap to reasonable. Food consists of lovely beer-tapa’s and great cheeses. Great whisky’s too, had the Kilchoman Machir Bay for a mere €6,-. Had a really nice evening here, and will definitely be back to try some more of those rare brews they have.

Visited this place recently in Utrecht and had a great time. Excellent selection of Dutch micro brews on tap as well as in bottles. The owners are a husband and wife extremely knowledgeable both of beer in general and the local brewing community. They’ll give some great recommendations if you’re open to trying out a few things.

A lovely bar located not far from the city centre. It has a mix of a typical dutch brown cafe and a contemporary feel which adds to its striking ambiance. The beer menu has a lot of local beers and a solid representation of micros. They are well chosen providing an outstanding list. The pricing is good but some, a bit over the edge. The owners are a dedicated couple to beer. They are knowledgeable and offer excellent recommendations. Also look out for a well selected range of whiskies.

Nice new cozy place in the centre of Utrecht. They have some fine Dutch beers. One of the few places where you can actually get more American style beers in Utrecht.

Just opened, or rather reopened because it has a long history. The new owners, though, have done a great job. There taps have local and seasonal focus, their bottle collection is outstanding. Beer menu is full of gems, albeit the really special ones are not cheap. Lots of local stuff. They will soon have a single barrel that different breweries will use, fun idea. The owners are passionate and knowledgeable. A very well executed beer bar that mixes classic and cozy Dutch bar style with a modern and forward thinking beer approach. Great alternative to the around the corner Kafe België and not yet as crazily busy. Prices are a bit steep though.
