Fantastic food. Great bar which gets super-busy fast. Extremely professional servers. Superb old school beer range. Excellent lager on tap. Really nice place for a meal/date. Top place.

Small place located next to a busy intersection. No parking. Selection is big on the Belgium style. Sip of Sunshine on tap & Abt 12 is impressive. Ambiance is homely and there's a second bar on the other side of the wall when it gets busy I guess. It was a weekday afternoon when I visited. Older looking brick wall and big wooden bar. Staff seemed knowledgeable about beers, but the actual service is hit or miss. My burger came out mooing when I asked for it cooked medium and the wrong beer was delivered. It was nice to check this place out.

Came in here on a Saturday and it was packed, though I still found some space at the bar. Very grumpy server here. Prices are high, even compared to D.C. Some good beers on tap but mostly the same stuff as over at Lord Hobo, which had a much better vibe. Here they played loud, scratchy, depressing hipster music. Kind of a grating downer. Wouldn’t recommend.

2015-11-14. Came for a late lunch/early dinner after a Harvard football game. The decor is kind of cool, with a saloon meets semi-gutted old-timey building sort of vibe to it. Unfortunately with that came poorly sealed windows and drafty doors. We eventually moved to a table farther from the window/door. (Admittedly we were super cold already from the game, but I assume it gets even worse in colder weather.) Food was really good, we arrived just as they tranisitioned from brunch to dinner and ordered off both menus. I had the chicken two ways - an andouille sausage (which was quite smokey and spicey contrary to the waitress’ advice) and a confit thigh that was glorious with the cheese grits. Collard greens were just okay. Mabel got the root beer braised pork belly which was tasty but overly rich. The pickle plate and charcuterie plate was interesting and well received by others at the table. The beer selection was very good with a nice mix of local options and imports, but not quite as impressive as one might expect from a place rated in the 90s. Nice spot. Would definitely come back, but it’s a bit overrated IMHO.

Came later in the evening, bar was pretty crowded. Felt a bit Good selection of taps, some interesting choices. Food was decent, but nothing more. Nice neighborhood bar, but wouldn’t consider it an essential visit.

I visited on a Monday afternoon so it was nice and relaxed in the bar. Some interesting stuff on tap but nothing too crazy when I was here however the Enlightenment Hoffman was the pick of the bunch. Very friendly lady working the bar who was chatty and clearly enjoyed good beer. I skipped a meal here but my neighbours sitting at the bar had some good looking plates of food delivered to them. There’s a patio with more seating out back however the weather turned chilly so nobody was game to utilise the space. This was well worth a nice stroll from central Boston.

A stylish neighbourhood bar with a relaxed atmosphere (at least when it’s not too busy - the first time I went there it was so crowed and noisy it was almost impossible to have a conversation). There are around 22 taps with lots of good beers to choose from. (Last visited 28 October 2012).

We came for brunch on a Saturday around 2 pm and ended up eating a good comfort meal and appreciating a well-chosen draught list including many of the latest top local picks like pale ales from Trillium. Beers tried were in pristine condition and while it seems to be a very popular place, we did not have to wait very long for a table and were comfortable and well serviced as soon as we got one. I’d definitely come back, but would worry about the crowd.

Hipster bar. Small but solid tap selection including one from Trillium I didn’t see elsewhere. Food was solid/artisanal.
