Visited this place a few times, most recently June 2012. Dirty Franks is another Elizabeth Lessner venture (think Bettyís, Surly Girl etc) located in downtown Columbus on 4th Street between Main and Rich. Street parking is available in the surrounding area.
The interior is relatively small with the bar on the left and table seating on the right. The walls are appropriately ketchup and mustard colored. Funky art is featured including a lot of baseball related caricatures.
Dirty Frankís has a relatively small but well-thought-out beer selection. Ohio breweries like Great Lakes, Columbus Brewing, and Thirsty Dog have been featured, as have craft brewers like Brooklyn, Victory and Stone. Bottled/canned selections from CBC, Great Lakes, North Coast. Rogue, and 21st Amendment.
Service has been consistently solid on my visits.
Hot dogs are what itís all about at this place and I have had a few different ones I really like, particularly the Classy Lady (crushed potato chips and cheese sauce).
All in all this is not a beer destination per se, but is definitely worth checking out for the funky decor and solid eats coupled with a few solid beer options.

I went in on a pretty busy day and there were very few places to sit. However, I was by myself and was seated at the bar not long after walking in. I was blown away by the beer they had on tap. The most impressive beer I saw was Duvel. It is hard enough to find Duvel in a bottle at a large store. In addition they had Frostop Root Beer on tap as well. I am somewhat of a hot dog snob, and I compare all dogs to one place in my area that has the best dogs I have ever eaten. I actually seek out hot dog shops to find a better one. Having, said that this place is not bad at all. One of the best I have had outside of my favorite place, Oí Bettyís in Athens, Ohio. The service was just fine even though they were packed and one employee even took time to tell me about how they choose their beers on tap. They have a guy that takes care of almost nothing but the beer selections and making sure they get a good selection. Price is what I expected. I got two dogs and a root beer and it ran me $10. I was stuffed and the food was very good. If you are downtown and looking for a dog and a beer, this is the place.

Dirty Frankís is a funky place in Downtown Columbus, hipstery and kitschy at the same time. Thanks to Puddintane and TheBaldWizard for bringing me here. We got a table by the front and ordered some 21st Amendment, locals, and other good crafts. Not a huge list but they make it count. The service is friendly but it didnít seem like they had too many people working for the crowd. The hot dog list is massive and everything looked awesome. I think I may have had the unhealthiest thing on the menu, and I also think I might be still paying for it. But whatever, it was fantastic. Great place.

Located down near Franklin University, this place is SMALL. Be prepared to wait. Small but nice selection of craft beer, but really, its all about the hot dogs. Have heard tons about this place. Because of location I would not go out of my way to go here again, but my dog was great and the tator tots rocked!

Located in downtown Columbus under a small, barely noticeable yellow awning, this little place is quite a hidden jem.
Dirty Franks is primarily a hot dog joint specializing in gourmet hot dogs loaded with toppings. You find yourself unable to make a decision.
They have a small-ish selection of beer but what is there is very high quality and a very nice surprise. Beers include 60 min, Southern Tier, Bells, Rogue, Saison DuPont, Founderís and a selection of Ohio companies. Mainly Columbus Brewing Co and Great Lakes but a couple lesser known Ohio breweries like Barrel House Brewing are represented. The beer selection is very surprising here.
The atmosphere is obviously quite casual as this is a hot dog joint. The people I have seen in there most are the somewhat younger, indy/artistic type, which is fine with me.
This is truly one of Columbusís best hidden little jems.
