On the main road out to Bacup amongst a small commercial area this is a fairly large pub in terms of area although the central pool table means seating is mainly around the edges of this carpeted and soft-furnished public house. The decor is a little durable as oppose to older traditional but the buildings older features such as two big fireplaces (one still with a roaring fire in winter) break up the look, and the black and white photographic stills of local area help the ambiance. The pub advertises real ales and its true to its word with a well kept Moorhouses available here amongst an otherwise dull selection, but this part of Rossendale is lacking in choices for craft ale so itís worth a look in if youíre in the area. Thereís a couple of picnic tables out front which give a great view of the traffic although the beer garden at the rear is a better option.
