72 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 Leighton (390) London, England | February 8, 2013 The Eagle is a nice pub, and apparently one steeped in history. The interior is quite homey, with lots of little rooms and alcoves. The beer selection is, for the most part, unexciting, containing a variation of bitters and golden ales. The bartender was friendly, the prices average or slightly higher. I didn’t eat any food here, but it looked and smelled good. It was fun having a drink in such an old, renowned pub, but the beer is really not this place’s focus. Probably worth a quick stop if you are visiting Cambridge; the location is convenient. | 74 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 15/20 lada66 (131) Savonlinna, Finland | October 1, 2012 The front bar is nothing special but The RAF Bar behind is worth visiting.
Itchen Valley “1966” England Expects 4,1% (2010). | 62 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 6/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 14/20 JorgeLee (71) , England | April 22, 2012 Famous old pub in the middle of Cambridge. Great building with lots of cool stuff and decoration, quite big, full of tourists doing the Cambridge thing. Gets a bit impersonal when rammed, but several caskales on tap (shame it’s Greene King). Food ok standard pub grub. |
