80 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 16/20 Ferris (77) Edmonton, Alberta | March 9, 2013| Updated March 10, 2013 This is a great concept that is available in a few other cities but the first I have seen in Bellingham. Part grocery, part cafe, part bottle shop and part bar it can easily adapt to fit your needs. Atmosphere is low only because with its flexibility comes a cost in environment. Just picking something up is more difficult with people drinking at the bar, and vice versa when you are drinking the constant wandering of customers is distracting. That said, it is pretty rustic and comfortable. Service is OK. Food is small sandwiches and although not bad, not enough to be a dining destination. Value is pretty good, with you being able to drink what you purchase without a markup. Overall this place works and if it weren’t for the 3 drink maximum I could spend a long time there. | 90 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD 3/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 19/20 tongatim (14) Bellingham, Washington | December 8, 2012| Updated March 10, 2013 Fabulous selection of bottled and kegged beers, which you can peruse while sipping a pint chosen from an always interesting selection on tap. Taps rotate frequently. Need more? Take some home in bottles, growlers, or kegs. This is truly a beer-lover’s candy store. Typically packed with friendly blend of all ages from collage students to old Bohemian locals with their dog in tow. Food? Ambiance? Who cares. This is a beer place. | 90 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 19/20 vancookalex (3) Vancouver, British Columbia | August 13, 2012| Updated March 10, 2013 For me, it’s the best place to go to if we’re not going all the way to Seattle. Cool little convenience store with a cereal bar and other food items (though I haven’t eaten there yet...) in addition to beer and wine. Beer selection is awesome, and they have some taps to try out, or fill your growler with. The staff are super friendly, the pricing great, and though I have to pay taxes on it coming back before 24 hours, it’s still worth checking this place out! | 100 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 20/20 callmeopus (1) Asheville, North Carolina | May 24, 2012| Updated March 10, 2013 What an amazing selection! They sell some of the most obscure and fantastic beers that can be found. Several taps plus they can open any bottle or can. They should win awards for what they offer! | 82 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 16/20 mcberko (134) Vancouver, British Columbia | April 29, 2012| Updated August 13, 2012 Great little gem of a store for a small town. Lots of great seasonals and rarer beers that I wouldn’t have expected to be available in such a store. Reasonable prices and friendly service. Recommended if in the area. |
