Visited january 2013, another great pub visited on our great pubcrawl. I think this place is where a lot of the locals go, it for sue seemed that way. Cosy atmosphere anf very serviceminded staff. The beers we had was well served. Go there, enjoy the atmosphere and a nice pint of beer..

Fairly quiet little boozer, even with the glam rock background music, which played a fairly sedate volume. There are carpets in here. The cask range is so so, the prices [on the cask ales] average. This place seems to fancy itself a purveyor of Belgian beers, and they have a respectable bottle list; however, much of the Belgian range is expensive to the point of ridiculousness. According to their printed beer menu, you may purchase a Westvleteren Blonde for £35, a Westy 8 for £35, or a Westy 12 for...wait for it...£80. Yep, £80. That’s their prerogative, but I find it pretty silly. The pub is decorated with lots of photos on the walls (in the style of a high-schooler’s bedroom) with plenty of beer ephemera to boot. Interesting spot, I suppose, but not one of my favourite’s in Cambridge.

A very hard to find pub on the backstreets of Cambridge, but well worth the trek. It’s an uber geeky place selling mainly Banks and Taylor beers but with several guests too and an awesome selection of Belgian bottled beers and some ciders too, for those people partial to drinking battery acid :-) A totally off the wall boozer with a greal ambience that will appeal to students, pensioners and anyone in between!

Good selection of real ales. Great and friendly staff (2010, 2011).

My first visit here and this will probably be a pub that Loz and venture to again, however the beer selection was hardly exciting, the most interesting beer that we could see was Banks & Taylor Fruit Bat and Box Steam Chuffin Ale so hardly anything to get to cheery about. The beers were well kept but in the case of the Box Steam just plain boring and the Banks & Taylor was just well rather weird, too artificial in my opinion with the fruitiness. A pleasant long corridor type pub that was amusing for the very cluttery and busy feel, I guess it would seem busy with just a handful of folk in there and yesterday it had barely anymore than a handful on our visit. Relatively close to the bottom end of Mill Road this pub is situated closeish to town and not far from both Parkers Piece and Jesus Piece/Place. The selection of Belgian bottles in the fridges was very impressive however on the whole I thought that they were also rather steep £5.30 for an Orval and £6.70 for Rochefort 10 is quite pricey in my opinion however Schlernka at £4.20 or thereabouts is not bad at all.

Easiest way to find this is to take the footpath from the side of Parker’s Piece, near the coach stops. Otherwise, head to the Tram Depot from East Road, and zig-zag once behind that, about 200m max. New B&T proprietorship is a great improvement over the old only-Wells drudgery. 3 W&Y, 3 B&T (always rotating) and 4 guests. Well-chosen Belgian bottles too. Great staff - very knowledgable about good beers, and really friendly too. A very positive contribution to the excellent Cambridge beer scene.

Nice pub with a good selection and quick service. From the outside it looks like any corner pub, but a really nice selection of cask ales.

Charles Wells pub leased to B & T with extremely knowledgeable and friendly licence es. 3 Wells/Youngs cask beers, 3 B&T and 4 well chosen guests. Good foreign bottled collection including Cantillon 375mls for a fiver! Didn’t try food, but the ambiance is superb. My dream street corner local.

A top notch pub and very handy for the Cambridge Beer Festival afternoon kick out. Also near the bus "station". As usual for decent Cambridge pubs, it’s a back street boozer in a residential area although, unlike most, it’s NOT in the Mill Road area. Used to be a Wells pub but taken over by B & T a couple of years ago. So you will find 2-3 B & T beers plus half a dozen guests on the bar. Also a decent Belgian selection with a printed list containing descriptions. The landlord previously ran the Hobgoblin in Reading and was extremely knowledgeable and friendly, coming to sit with us for a chat. Don’t know about food. The only bad thing about this pub is actually finding it. Although the address is given as Orchard Street, that seems to end when you hit Clarendon Street with no sign of the pub. However, there is an alleyway directly ahead and the pub ids down there on the corner of Eden Street. Alternatively walk down Elm Street as far as you can go and you can’t miss it.

Great pub, has really helped to educate me on belgian beers. Huge selection of bottle and a good selection of beers and ciders on tap. Great place,individual glasses for each of the belgian beers. Prices a little steep but worth it.
