94 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 19/20 poisoneddwarf (16) Rathdrum, Idaho | January 29, 2013 This place has changed quite a bit, for the better, so I better update this. I was moved to update my review by reading that the Ratebeer best for retailers in Idaho for 2013 was someplace in Meridian that only has 75 bottles and no taps. How the heck is this place better than Enoteca in Post Falls, a place with 800+ bottles and 11 taps? Since my original review, Enoteca has bought the place next door, thereby doubling their space. This extra footage was put to use by creating a bar with an 11-tap top-of-the-line craft/import selection. They have a rare beer list, which is pretty cool. They also now sell top-shelf hard alcohol, with Scotch, Bourbon, and cocktails, including standards as well as original creations. Their wine list is hard to beat, their taplist is always rotating, always phenomenal. The beers they can now accomodate due to this new addition have multiplied substantially. This place is truly amazing, not only for the beer aficionado, but the wine and spirit connoisseur as well.
For the fine beer and wine enthusiast in Northern Idaho, you can’t do better than Enoteca in Post Falls. The selection here is very good and so are the prices. Russell is extremely knowledgeable about his beers and is very personable. You can talk to him without feeling like just another customer. He’s passionate about beer and you can see it’s not just a selling point. I’ve seen bigger selections elsewhere (not locally, mind you), but the square footage here is fairly small. From what I’ve heard, they plan on acquiring a bigger location. If this happens, I’m sure Enoteca’s reputation will spread beyond this local region. If allowed to expand, I’m sure Enoteca will obtain Beer Heaven status. | 92 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 brenn79 (2) Idaho | October 19, 2012| Updated April 13, 2013 This is my go to place to buy beer, it is a little shop that has just expanded to a full on bar that is a separate room that you can walk from the bar to the store. They specialize in fine wine and beer, but I go there for the beer. They regularly have like nine different tap offerings, a decent sized bottle selection. If you subscribe to their beer or wine club you can get a 10% discount on everything in the store. It is a nice classy little place, sometimes the prices are decent, and sometimes they seem high, but you are getting quality. Overall It is hands down the best beer store that we have in North Idaho. | 86 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 17/20 Torontoblue (30) Edmonton, Alberta | October 16, 2012 Great liquor beer/wine store. Selection of both alcohol formats are an eye opener; serious quality. I just walked around in circles for about 30 minutes taking everything in. The server admitted she knew nothing about beer, which was fine with me (I didn’t need any help on beers), but we had a natter about the merits of beer over wine, and she was open to trying some of the food pairings I suggested. Eventually took the plunge and started stacking bottles on the service counter. Good selection of quality beers from around the world, and local offerings too. There really is too much to take in!! Sadly, I was too early for the excellent bar in the side room; next time I’m passing I’ll make sure it’s after 4pm. This really is a jewel of a store. A MUST visit when passing through Post Falls. Bravo!!!! | 96 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 19/20 curly (114) Kirkland, Washington | September 6, 2012 Nice place, a little small, beer area is stocked to the max for the cramped space it is. Very nice selection of Belgians, Mikkeller, LA, Ninkasi, The Bruery, Midnight Sun, Southern Tier, a bunch of other stuff..... Came here again and met Russell, great guy, very knowledgeable and friendly. My new go to store for high quality beer..... Another visit, this place amazes me every time I’m in here. Like mentioned before, I have seen bigger selections but there is still so much here and Russell and his father are great guys. Another visit, I am continuously in awe of this place. Russell, you did it right man. Great business sense, great guy, great place, great communication, I could go on and on. Russell goes above and beyond on a regular basis...... Been almost a year since I was last in. This place has changed a lot. They expanded into the building next door which makes browsing the beers much easier. They also built a bar area in the next door space so you can sit and enjoy some pints with some great company. I’m thrilled to see this place doing so well. | 80 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 18/20 mbgrayson (2) Anaconda, Montana | July 11, 2012 A very nice beer and wine store near Post Falls. Lots of selection, and well organized by style. Thumbs way up! I will be back. | 78 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 16/20 DuffMan (217) the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta | August 27, 2011 Pretty easy to find off the highway between Couer d’Alene and Spokane. Small shop that makes the most of their square footage. Nice selection with a focus on both quality and regional representation. Very well organized. Decent pricing with a generous discount for larger purchases. If we are passing through again, I will make a point of returning. | 100 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 20/20 smulkowski (1) Idaho | June 11, 2011 I could ask for nothing more - what an unbelievable selection...Russell and Sara are extremely helpful. From uber-unavailable Trappist beers to West Coast IPAs and beyond, you will not be disappointed. | 100 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 20/20 Stein80 (1) Washington | June 3, 2011 I have been to much larger beer stores, but the service and friendliness you get at Enoteca is beyond matching. The owner is very knowledgeable and will gladly take the time to help make a selection. The tasting room is hands down the major draw of this establishment. I have had great conversations with other beer enthusiasts over a pint, which there are always 4 on tap. I would highly suggest if you are in the area to stop in and explore the great beer and wine selections. | 68 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 13/20 billk (55) Coeur d’Alene, Idaho | May 18, 2008 A little oasis in this culture and beer dead region. Selection is small but some high end things are available such as Orval, and JW Lees harvest ale.
Prices are a bit high for someone who has to ask. | 100 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 20/20 russmann (1) Post Falls, Idaho | April 18, 2008 [disclaimer]I’m the owner, so I am biased.[/disclaimer]
Our goal for beer at Enoteca is to bring a great beer selection to Post Falls. We’re very responsive to requests, special orders, and finding obscure brews for your enjoyment.
We hold a formal beer tasting about once per month, check out www.corkjoy.com and sign up for our email newsletter to be notified of upcoming events.
Freestyle Beer Tasting is a share and share alike informal tasting that can be held nearly any time we’re open. Just meet some friends at Enoteca, and grab some beer from the fridge or shelf to buy and share! We usually have something behind the counter to add to the sharing :)
Regarding the style of selection, we like Belgians, dark beer, and hoppy beyond all reason beers the best. A few exceptional lighter beers have worked their way into the lineup though!
We also carry a huge wine selection and feature weekly wine tasting.
Thanks for considering Enoteca for your wine and beer experiences. |
