70 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 14/20 watson1977 (114) The dub c, Pennsylvania | April 17, 2013 Even though the place is way too small, cramped, and crowded, the staff still manages to make you feel as though it is your fault you are in the way. Food can be pretty good here but Ive had consistency issues over the years. The saving grace is that the tap and bottle selection are fabulous and there is usually a very helpful bartender. Nice place if you are nearby and need your tough to find belgian fix. | 84 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 jrgratz (11) New York | March 4, 2013 Great old city haunt. Nice food. Great beer selection. A little narrow downstairs. Fun spot to grab a couple. | 88 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 Beerman6686 (92) Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania | November 2, 2012 Ambiance is dark, small and crowded, but inviting. Service was good and knowledgable. Tap selection was incredible, hill farmstead, russian river, lost abbey, and other great stuff. A little cheaper than the other great beer bars in Philly which is a plus. Certainly worth making the trip to. | 84 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 18/20 BiddleBrau (76) Fort Washington, Pennsylvania | June 24, 2012 Stopped in for a few beers here but would have like to have stayed longer. Good vibe, casual with many beer signs, old and new, around. Limited taps but extensive bottles. Food is available but didn’t try. Would like to try the mussel offerings for sure. I’m sure after a few visits my rating would go up. | 90 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 Travlr (999) Washington, Washington DC | June 5, 2012 Fantastic vibe in this place, full but not packed upstairs and down on a Tuesday afternoon. Great beer list for Philly beer week, plus a brand new beer from Dupont. Can’t beat that! | 68 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 4/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 14/20 GMCC2181 (66) Newark , Delaware | June 3, 2012 Stopped in on a Sat night. We sat upstairs, dark, small, crowded.... I should of sat at the bar. Server seemed knowledgable about beer but sub-par service in general. They were having an Ommengang take over so lots of their beers of draft. Bottle list is awesome... Lots of good stuff from CA to Belgium. I probably wouldnt go back unless it was a slow day during the week | 84 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 16/20 UDBeernut (91) Near Buffalo, New York | April 25, 2012 Drinks and dinner with my wife. A few taps, much more bottles from belgium to california. Service was good. Moules and frites were tasty. Proper glass wear. Nice. A bit pricey, ohhhh well. | 90 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 chrispratt (14) , | March 3, 2012 Friendly and very knowledgeable staff that are always ready to make suggestions if needed. Food is quite good also. | 74 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 4/10 OVERALL 13/20 aj1451 (12) Vancouver, British Columbia | February 10, 2012 Great selection, Good food but the Service was hit and miss.
I went here multiple times in the past month. The first time was by far the best, we had a server named Christian. He was great, had huge knowledge of the list and Philly beer culture. The moules were wonderful, and the selection was great. Philly has a lot of good beer bars and this one was good.
The service seemed to fall flat on the weekends when I was here and become almost bad when the bar reached capacity, weeknights were great. A place to give a look at when you are in Old City. | 68 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 14/20 GT2 (344) Riverslime, California | January 10, 2012 Stuck in between Triumph Brewing and Khyber Pass in the chaos of downtown Philly’s historic district, Eulogy is a two part, extremely cramped Belgian cafe and beer bar. For Philly Beer Week, this place had a wild tap list including fresh Hill Farmstead Double Citra, Port Brewing Hightide, Hill Farmstead Everett. It was a miracle. But Eulogy doesn’t always have such a stellar tap list and the good stuff was only pouring downstairs, which is cramped beyond belief. Essentially impossible to order a drink. Upstairs was similarly cramped but you can sit at tables. The upstairs bar gets the B tap list forcing you to get beer from downstairs and cart it up through pandemonium to your table. Bottle list was uninspiring. On a normal day, Eulogy is one of those perfect scroll past places since Triumph across the street is cheaper and has better beer- yes, their house beers are very good. Eulogy is a bit too gimmicky and I didn’t think the food quite made up for it. However, it is a harmless place so no reason to drop in and look at the taplist in between bar hopping in downtown. They have something special, but I wouldn’t get my hopes up. |
