Fastnet is an authentic Irish pub with all that Irish pubs entail. Most of the staff are Irish and so are a good chunk of the regulars. They’ll show a lot of the big soccer and rugby games and get a good ex-pat crowd. The beer selection is also very Irish, which is great if you like mass produced commercial beer. They have a few crafts on tap, but one doesn’t head to this bar for the beer.

This bar has huge windows and doors that open onto the street, a common feature in good inner city Irish pubs in the US. Beer selection was boring, though. Didn’t try the food.

I don’t know who put this place in the database, but since it is here already, I’ll rate it. This location used to be known as Aidans, and when it was Aidans it was an excellent Irish bar. Fastnet is far from what Aidans was. The decor is pretty much exactly the same. The beer selection is nothing special that you can’t find in a thousand other Irish bars in the U.S with the addition of one or two local beers. Again, similar to Aidans. That’s where the similarity ends. The food was frankly amongst the worst food I have ever had the misfortune of eating. My wife’s dinner had a piece of plastic in it. Our server obviously was smoking while he was working the kitchen and our food smelled of cigarette tobacco. I cannot recommend avoid strongly enough for this place.
