74 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 14/20 wimpyjoe (564) Manchester, England | February 20, 2013 On the main road through Hebden Bridge this is a modern take on the traditional small town pub. The decor is modern but comfortable throughout in a building utilising its stone floor and walls. It’s a popular haunt, especially when the tourists come to time and there’s no shortage of beers to choose from, lager and ales, with a more than ample selection of the latter. Food is very much on the menu here too. On the expensive side. | 72 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 14/20 Fin (368) Merton, Oxfordshire, England, England | April 9, 2012 We (Fin, Loz, Nigel. Katy, Mark & Kathy) visited here on Sun 8th April 2012. This was a real cosy feel local with good banter and a very down to earth feel about the place. Beers were from Rosendale and Church End and there was a real cider from Gwatkins available. There was also a decent bottled beer selection from Belgium and other countries. Had a couple and a half pints, very pleasant atmosphere, would happily come back here. I understand that the place is attempting to become a community buy out pub. |
