I have visited Gallows Bird several times before and after the expansion. The negative side is that the pub is a bit hard to reach from Helsinki. The highlights are of course the real ale selection and the festivals: real ale and kekri, the latter focuses on Finnish microbrews. The bottle selection has some beers that are hard to find in Finland. The rotating taps usuallly pour Nordic microbrews. The staff is usually quite knowledgeable. Food isn’t anything special. Sport on tv occasianally. Be warned.

Quite spacious English- style pub in the middle of not really much. Has a good set of taps featuring usually nice, even if quite common, beers as well as a couple of real ale pumps which are well maintained. Helpful staff, bar food. Has a good selection of bottles also, and beery events every now and then.

Real ale festival is rare and the best beer event in Finland.

Good service and a nice atmosphere. Lots of room after the fairly recent renovations in the place. Prices are much nicer in comparison to the places in the center of Helsinki. Good selection and real ale served as well.

The Pub of Finland. Service is friendly and the atmosphere is good. After the extension a year ago there are 18 taps and a large patio outside. Also a pool table and a meeting room. Beer selection varies seasonally and new brews are always available. They also serve the best real ale in finland.

Nice english-looking pub in the middle of nowhere as is the tradition with the best pubs in helsinki. About 40-50 different kinds of beer on bottle along with 8 beers on draught + 2 real ale taps. Bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable about the beers they sell. Prices are very good too. Probably my 3:rd favourite pub in Helsinki (well...almost as this is really in Espoo) after One Pint and Pikkulintu. Check it out!

Kekri 2009. This pub is quite strangely situated but still lots of people on Sunday afternoon. Good selection of beers and friendly staff.

Real Ale festivals every year. Friendly personnel. Thomas has been devoted for the pub. Allways fish and chips during RA-festivals.

Patio (6 tables) too close to a 4 lane road - lots of noise. Inside looks cosy. massive wood etc.Very good selection indeed. Service is good and friendly. Music peaceful OK.

Several real ale festivals each year. Always perfectly served. Friendly staff. Run by and for people who love good beer. Occasional music. If the snacks (snack bratwurst and sauerkraut, microwave pizza, or beer-snacks) don’t press your buttons, if you’re polite they might let you bring in a mcdonalds (or even pizza) takeaway.
