50 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 2/10 OVERALL 9/20 Dogbrick (561) Columbus, Ohio | November 10, 2012 (Visited 08/2012): Gordon Biersch is in Terminal 1 of LAX. It is located in a small food court on the right side.
There is a short bar on the right with tables crowded in right behind the bar stools. There are more tables in the shared space of the food court.
Gordon Biersch in the airport carries their standard beers plus a seasonal.
Service was pretty good for an airport bar. The bartender was very friendly and engaging considering the demeanor of most of his customers.
We did not have any food on this visit.
All in all I have pretty low expectations in an airport. This place unfortunately doesn’t do much to raise them given the prices and quality but at least it is an option beyond all the macro stuff. | 34 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 3/10 SELECTION 4/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 1/10 OVERALL 8/20 DiarmaidBHK (523) Pennsylvania | September 28, 2012 Same crappy Gordo Biersch experience combined with shittty airport bar ambience. And at such bargain prices. A 22 ounce craft Gordo hefe can be yours for the low low price of $9.32. They only have 4 of Gordo’s masterpieces on tap. Aww! Tear! And such great service! Man "I want to order a salad." Barkeep "the pizza kitchen is across the food court. " priceless! | 54 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 3/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 4/10 OVERALL 14/20 BMan1113VR (306) Los Angeles, California | October 12, 2009 Bar in the Southwest Terminal of LAX right after the check in. I have had many a quick beer here after a long wait to get through the snaking security line. It is joined at the hip with a California Pizza Kitchen (CPK to go), so there is good food (I don’t know if they have any of their own food...it doesn’t seem like it). They normally have 5 or 6 of their beers on tap (plus a tap or two for a BMC standard). Also have a full liquor selection. They normally have a rotating seasonal. Bartenders now little about the beer they are serving besides the name and the color (some even struggle with the English language). The bar maybe sits about 15, plus there are a few tables around. After sort of trashing this place by the numbers, it deserves a high overall score, as it is nice to get a quality beer in an airport. Thankfully LAX has two Gordon Biersch’s (the other is in terminal 8) and several other brewpubs in other terminals. |
