Very cozy and very small bar. The range featured Kernel (bottles), Buxton, Sambrooks and Dark Star. The staff was very busy at both of my visits, but they were efficient and still took the time to chat a little. Prices were good considering the central location. Somewhat noisy.

Visited several times. A typical down town pub, not fra from Trafalgar Square. Cosy atmosphere, nice and quiet. Friendly and seviceminded staff, a good range of beers, normally in a good condition. For sure worth a visit if you are in the area.

I’ve been going to The Harp for about the past 5 years now. A stones throw from my office, this has been our watering hole throughout and imagine that I’ve probably paid the monthly bills on this place alone the amount I drink here. One of the better freehouse pubs in central London which has an extremely healthy, rapidly changing range of cask, hand pumped ales on tap, especially when considering the size of the actual bar. Extremely friendly staff, the pub itself is very cramped and I think that in 5 years I’ve sat down only a hand-full of times. In summer it is pleasant to drink either in the alley behind or out front. Regular appearances by Dark Star and Twickenham ales make this worth coming for as well as a small fridge which has Kernel and (as a Somerset lad) one of the best Cider ranges available that I’ve found. That being said, sometimes the beer isn’t kept fantastically and can often taste a bit off.

A very chaotic place, in Covent Garden, you have to fight for your beer, but that’s London! 8 taps, changing regularly, and a large choice of craft ciders and perries. They also cook sausages. Girls on the taps are fast and good, they know their job and how to spill a beer. Really great quality beers. Good atmosphere, just too much people. They have been voted the CAMRA National Pub of the Year for 2010/2011.

Many visits to the Harp over the years although possibly not since it won champion pub! Cosy cosy place which can become a bit overbearing during busy periods. There is a little known upstairs room if you want to risk carrying your beers (when you eventually get them) up the deathtrap carpeted staircase akin to grandma’s house! Beer range is adequate although not hugely extensive. Service is decent, they cope with the crowds as best they can. The sausage butties are good tackle! Worth popping by if in the area but if you’re on a time restricted tour of London you could maybe just skip on this, unless being wedged into a ’trad’ broom cupboard comes high on your list!

Nice traditional english pub just a few minutes from Trafalgar Square. Quite small and very crowded on a Sarurday night. A lot better when I revisited the day after. 8 or so casks, bottles from Kernel and a few more brewers. Quite nice place if you choose not to visit when it’s too crowded.

Very small bar, which was packed with people at early friday afternoon. Ok range of regular cask beers, just a few more rare beers. There are so many better places to visit, but you might have to go off the beaten track.

A true gem! A small and cosy pub with well kept cask ales. Can be hard to squeeze in since it is often packed with both local business men and enthusiastic beer tourists. (Visited November 15 and 16th 2012)
