Really great brewpub in the West Loop. The beers are typically pretty tasty with 10 or so on draft at any given time. The food is ok, but nothing special. Value wise, this place is one of the least expensive bars in Chicago.

A lot of great beers here, and a free shuttle (with beer) to the United Center for Bulls/Blackhawks games. Didn’t try the food, but tried a bunch of beers and most were quite good.

Fantastic brewpub. Their beers are great, and are offered in various sizes for each beer. The food is amazing. Awesome place.

I really like some of the brews they have here. The brewmaster is awesome. You can try a lot of them with the 4 oz pours. I don’t like how ridiculously enormous it is and that it attracts the same crowd as the location’s predecessor- Bar Louie. *I retract that statement in a revised review. Haymarket is turning into a chicago mainstay and the vibe is great. The food is pretty much the definition of above average. They have a free shuttle to and from Bulls/Blackhawks games if are interested in those teams. Pretty convenient.

The food is good and they brew their own beer here, so you’ll never see the same beer twice as each is a small seasonal batch.

A fun brewpub that is frequently busy in the evening with two bars (the back bar in the Drinking and Writing Theatre my favorite, but also the one that is usually closed for events and private parties). Pete Crowley has fashioned a solid beer line up and solid food menu with a few standouts over in the West Loop. Scores points for the ability to buy your beer in small pours, this place is darker and lower light, good TV/Sports viewership (and a Hawkeye Bar to boot!). A nice brewpub with some pretty good beer and solid food so close to the loop area.

18 Nov 2012. great place in chicago. they have about 10-15 of their own beers on tap as well as 8-10 guest taps. all craft beer, and some amazing barrel aged beer at that. food was great! prices were decent. liked the ability to have 4 oz samples of anything on tap. service was friendly. on one visit the server knew quite a bit about beer. on the second, he knew next to nothing but acted as if he did. both were very friendly though.

Visited on Sunday 4th November at 11.45 for just over an hour. Pretty busy for a Sunday lunchtime I thought, perhaps this is the norm, but we grabbed 2 of the last 3 or so seats at the bar. There was a Chicago Bears game on the box. Around a dozen of their own beers on tap and a dozen or so guests, plus the best part of 100 bottles in the fridges behind the bar. All draft beer both home and guests were available in 4, 12 or 16 oz pours (16oz excluded on some of the stronger beers) which helps for rapid rate building! Appearance wise it comes over as a sports bar type affair. Service was excellent and we never had to wait on the next beer. Food sampled was just in the form of chicken wings which were fine but only warranted a 6/10.

Came here with a group of 13 on a Friday night and was able to get seated in less than an hour. Had a few of their house beers and all were good- I personally really enjoyed the porter. The burger was also delicious. Our server did quite a good job keeping up with our group of heavy drinking guys on a bachelor party. The scene was very loud and a little annoying but it is to be expected for the time of night we came. A really enjoyable experience overall and a place I will definitely come back to next time I’m in Chicago.
