64 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD 10/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 12/20
I realize this will be the same comments as the other HEB grocery store on Babcock, but they are essentially the same with respect to craft beer, although the selections are typically somewhat different, but with plenty of overlap. As a place to buy beer, itís not really that bad, especially for a supermarket. All the big HEB stores around SA actually have a fair selection of craft beers. The 1604/Bandera store is very large, with a fair selection of beers in sixers, bombers, and corked/caged. You can certainly go into this store and come out with quality beer. There is DFH, Stone, Alaskan, Deschutes, Brooklyn, Lagunitas, Victory, RABC and numerous others (I canít remember them all). Prices seem to vary, but some are a great value, while some are a little higher than other places across the country. Overall itís a decent place to pick up some beer, although not all of the craft beers are kept cold (many are though). Food wise itís a huge grocery store, so obviously it scores high there.
