I was in Anchorage recently and had to stop here to check it out. Nice ambient sports atmosphere with a great amount of taps ranging from local Anchorage flavors to some PNW brews. The food, I had a reindeer burger, haha, I guess I just ate Prancer, Woops, well it was a good burger. Service was good. Beer wasnít always put in appropriate glassware but I wasnít too annoyed since the place seemed more of a sports bar. Iíd go back, seems it would be a great place for lunch.

Tired and run-down in nearly every way, with a disappointing beer list.

In general, a faded alehouse that maybe once was vital to the scene but today just seems tired. The selection was entirely uninteresting, with the stateís top 4-5 breweries entirely unrepresented. No Anchorage, no Midnight Sun, no 49th State, only one Kassikís, a standard. I could get half these beers in Vancouver, and we donít get jack for American micros. Coming here looking for quality will leave you disappointed. Disinterested service and management makes Humpyís a place you can skip, quite frankly.

Humpyís is a great alehouse in downtown Anchorage, with a good kitchen, a breathtaking selection of Alaskan beers on tap and probably the most efficient service Iíve had in America - even with a full bar, surrounding him at 270 degrees, the bartender still spotted my empty glass virtually within seconds of me setting it down. Again and again. Amazing! The place would have got top score on all accounts if it wasnít for the noise (sports were shown on TV screens and people had to talk loud to be heard above the TV noise) and the fact that they only serve beer in one size - pints - which made this a very tough exercise for me. After 6-7 beers I couldnít take any more. Flights or taster sized glasses would have been great for a place with so many beers on tap. Visited: 2014-07-28

We arrived just before the Barleywine festival let out and were able to get a table. Our waiter was great, he spent time answering our questions even though he got flooded by customers. The selection of beer available was amazing, Our friends got food and I did look over the menu, typical pub fair. Great place downtown and close to other great beer stops.

Our first stop in Anchorage for the Barleywine festival after a long trip. The place was packed and the music loud. Service was fast and friendly. They had a nice big list of local beers.

Nice sized bar with an excellent beer selection. Service was very helpful and prompt. They have plenty of locals, which makes it very nice if you donít have time to travel farther out from downtown. They have food items as well, but I did not try anything. Iíll be back to enjoy this place I am sure.

Downtown location with a large area and live music. Stopped by on a friday night. Live music was a plus. The beer selection is pretty big and they have different sizes available like 8/16/pitcher. Sevice was just ok, overpack that night. Overall a fun place.

What can one say other than they have a tap list and bottle list that is awesome. the old tap handles from breweries long gone is awesome. Great bar food and terrific beer line up. Lots of local brews and smack right downtown. Parking sucks.

They had a fairly decent tap list. They had a few taps that were new to me. The service was pretty good. The female bartender was nice looking, so that was nice, too. The scene - not my favorite. Iím not even 30 years-old yet, but shit, this place was too loud for me. I like subtle conversation, but with a band on Friday night, and all of the people, it was a little much. Iím not saying I didnít have fun, or that this place isnít worth your time, because it definitely is, Iím just saying that it wasnít my cup oí tea. This site is about the beer, however, so with that being said, Iíll say, definitely go here to check out their tap selection. You never know, they may have something that surprises you, on tap. Oh, also, I tried some of their food, and it was pretty good. I had this dessert that was fairly amazing, so thatís another plus for this place. Oh, one last thing, if youíre going here on a crazy night, itís sort of in a busy area, but the parking is < $5 for multiple hours, so itís not a big deal, or hard to find parking at all.
