88 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 Gription79 (26) Bountiful, Utah | January 26, 2013 We arrived just before the Barleywine festival let out and were able to get a table. Our waiter was great, he spent time answering our questions even though he got flooded by customers. The selection of beer available was amazing, Our friends got food and I did look over the menu, typical pub fair. Great place downtown and close to other great beer stops. | 74 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 Sledutah (207) Utah | January 25, 2013 Our first stop in Anchorage for the Barleywine festival after a long trip. The place was packed and the music loud. Service was fast and friendly. They had a nice big list of local beers. | 76 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 15/20 SHIG (175) Anchorage, Alaska | May 25, 2012 Nice sized bar with an excellent beer selection. Service was very helpful and prompt. They have plenty of locals, which makes it very nice if you don’t have time to travel farther out from downtown. They have food items as well, but I did not try anything. I’ll be back to enjoy this place I am sure. | 74 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 hombrepalo (101) Chicago, Illinois | April 9, 2012 Downtown location with a large area and live music. Stopped by on a friday night. Live music was a plus. The beer selection is pretty big and they have different sizes available like 8/16/pitcher. Sevice was just ok, overpack that night. Overall a fun place. | 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 14/20 BrewDad (408) Olympia, | March 15, 2012 What can one say other than they have a tap list and bottle list that is awesome. the old tap handles from breweries long gone is awesome. Great bar food and terrific beer line up. Lots of local brews and smack right downtown. Parking sucks. | 80 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 16/20 CheersMate (147) Fremont (Seattle), Washington | February 19, 2012 They had a fairly decent tap list. They had a few taps that were new to me. The service was pretty good. The female bartender was nice looking, so that was nice, too. The scene - not my favorite. I’m not even 30 years-old yet, but shit, this place was too loud for me. I like subtle conversation, but with a band on Friday night, and all of the people, it was a little much. I’m not saying I didn’t have fun, or that this place isn’t worth your time, because it definitely is, I’m just saying that it wasn’t my cup o’ tea. This site is about the beer, however, so with that being said, I’ll say, definitely go here to check out their tap selection. You never know, they may have something that surprises you, on tap. Oh, also, I tried some of their food, and it was pretty good. I had this dessert that was fairly amazing, so that’s another plus for this place. Oh, one last thing, if you’re going here on a crazy night, it’s sort of in a busy area, but the parking is < $5 for multiple hours, so it’s not a big deal, or hard to find parking at all. | 86 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 16/20 Travlr (999) Washington, Washington DC | January 20, 2012 Largeand friendly place, a bit scruffy in a nice way. Extensive local beer selection, including multiple not yet rated. Food is tasty and varied. Good stop. | 74 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 14/20 troyc (147) Oklahoma | November 1, 2011 A busy bar in downtown Anchorage with a really nice beer selection. A good variety from across the state is the advantage here. At the same time, it is a bit pricy, even by local standards. Didn’t try the food, but it did look good. I visted on a weekend evening, so it was busy and took a while to get beers. Still a nice place to visit. | 86 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 18/20 Lubiere (412) Ottawa, Ontario | October 17, 2011 This is a true man cave of beer (as advertised). Dark, a bit dank, old shcool tavern look with a nice beer selection, with some imports and rareties. The food is bar food meets Alaskan seafood. Had the halibut Benedict, which was good if pricey (15$). Will offer free tastes, and for the local stuff, some sampler glasses. | 72 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 4/10 OVERALL 14/20 thorongil2 (16) , Ontario | July 20, 2011 does not look like much, but what matters is a good beer selection - both Alaskan and form the lower 48s, plus few European; decent food, harried but attentive service, expensive but not more than other downtown Anchorage joints |
