Nice and clean with a quick service. Of course the variety is almost none in food and beer but the idea is to have their Trappists. Nice place to have a light lunch, kids friendly with pleasant service and normal belgian prices. I usually buy cheese ( outstanding) and the abdij pate in the shop. And sometimes beer...

Stopped by while staying at the B&B at St. Bernardus and sat on the patio. Food is what to be expected, but where else can you sit outside and drink Westvleteren close to the Monastery? Service was fast and good and price was decent. Beer to go was already sold out by the time we got there.

Big cafeteria, in the typical Flemish ’cyclist’ style (i.e. more of a canteen to stop and have a nice refreshing beer). Had a Westvleteren Blond on the terrace, overlooking the corn fields of Vleteren. Lovely view. Unfortunately, no beers were in stock in the small shop inside the bar.

The only place that I know of where you can find Westvleteren on tap. They occasionaly have bottles to go as well, but that only seems to happen a few times a year. Prices are decent and the food is basic but good. Everyone should visit here once.

Big modern cafetaria with possibility to buy cheese, marmelade and so on and if you’re lucky some beer (biggest change of finding the blonde). All the beers can be drunk on site, with a cheese sandwich amongst others. Prices for the drinks are decent, but the food is more expensive. Although there as a big crowd, the waitors didn’t seem to be in a rush. The location is quite nice, giving the quiet rural environment. A decent place to stop by when cycling in the neighborhood, but don’t expect it to very special.

Sort of "official" cafe for Westvleteren brewery. Since original low possibility to find their beer, this is a real good place to visit.

This is a cafe across the road from the abbey. My understanding is it is owned separately. The ’cafeteria’ style area has a decent food menu but it’s expensive. Ice cream w/ beer was good. You can sometimes buy beer to go.
I would return maybe if I was there with a tourist friend but it is a very long drive from cities to visit.

Modern café type of building next to the abbey. Crowded, noisy. Not always very fiendly staff. Good quality food - basic but tasty and of course enjoy your Westvleteren with it. They serve it too cold though. Little tourist shop in the corner. Nice place to visit and grab some beers to take home if you don’t have the oppertunity to collect them at the abbey.
