One of the saddest locations imaginable, itís in a derelict stripmall that hardly looks inhabitable. The inside is dark, low-ceilinged, kind of messy. Itís a legitimate dive bar with a Broncos-Bud Lite-Harley Davidson vibe to it, and no charm for the beer geek. One pour from tap was downright awful, smelling of autolyzed yeast and butter. Nice people, at least, talkative and pleasant and enjoying themselves, that Colorado stranger friendliness vibe shines even here.

This is the first bona fide dive bar Iíve been to that also brews their own beer. Ironworks is in a strip mall and I canít emphasize enough how divey it is. The front windows have multiple Bud and Coors neons, 90s rock was playing, there are worn pool tables, a much older crowd gathered here, the food menu is cheap and greasy and brief, their tap selection is comprised only of their beers and Bud Light, Budweiser and Coors Light. Though there was a decent crowd here on a weekday afternoon, I was the only person seated at the bar. An old man sat directly next to me and proceeded to drink lemonade and take regular smoke breaks to puff on Pyramids. I ate a hot ham and cheese sandwich which wasnít anything special but certainly worth $5.95. I have heard a lot of positive comments about their IPA, so I went with that. It was served in a frosty glass, of course. The hop aroma and flavor was actually quite nice and came through cleanly. There are underlying off flavors though which could very well be a tap line issue. So, if you are looking for a place to swill cheap beers, munch on cheap pub grub and shoot pool while talking politics with old dudes, this is a great stop. Oh, bartender was great too.

Karaoke night on Thursday - awesome, people were actually singing, and some of them were really good. The atmosphere was good, more of a local feel but nothing wrong with that. The staff and brewer we met were personable and friendly. Had a great conversation with one of the brewers on their beer and the state of the microbrew scene in the Denver area. I had two of their beers and both were good. Not great, write home about them beers, but very drinkable. Overall thumbs up and worth a stop if youíre in the area.

Both the Stout and Porter were very good, as well as the food. Did not try any other beers this trip. I will be back to try some another time.

Low key, no frills, neighborhood brewpub. I visited on a weekday afternoon and it was moderately busy. I had 3 beers: Alt-very nice, quaffable, smooth. I donít drink many Alts but this might change my mind. IPA-high ABV, served a little cold for my tastes. Not highly hopped, no head, but very drinkable. ESB-again, a little cold but good body and very flavorful. Nice beer. This place is off the beaten path but recommended for their good beers and laid back atmosphere. I will be back.

I liked this place. Youíll either like or hate the ambiance, it is sort of a dive with alot of regulars. Dart boards and pool tables. They have an open mic night on wednesday which you will either like or dislike. But the bartender / servers always have a smile and are friendly, and prompt on attending to you. Their beers are actually not bad - alot of them run of the mill micros, nothing special, although a couple Iíve had were damn good, like the green mountain pale. Its cheap for their brews and alot of times theyíll have a couple on special for real cheap, a good value. Iíve never eaten their so I canít attest to the food, but if you want to sample some microbrews it is a fun place to stop; you wonít be blown away but I donít think youíll be disappointed either.

This place is set up more like a sports bar than a brewery, but the beers are good and so is the service. I did not try any food on this visit. The price is very good, particularly for the Denver area. The patrons seemed like regulars who visit mostly daily.

Horrible, Horrible microbrewery. Bad atmosphere and even worse beers.

February 2009. Buried away in a non-descript strip mall area, this place has the feel of a neighborhood sports bar (disappointingly decorated almost entirely with Coors stuff) that happens to make its own beer. The owner seems to have a good vision for making the place better, including a new beer garden out back. We sampled 7 or 8 beers which ran the gamut and 1 or 2 were very good. Didnít eat, but the options look limited. (Brewery #469)
