80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 16/20 Mora2000 (74) McKinney, Texas | May 10, 2013 This is based on multiple trips to Jack Mac’s over the past six months. While the address says Dallas, think of this as being in Plano. It is less than a 1/4 mile south of Plano and the George Bush Turnpike on Preston Road. They occasionally have one-off casks, as well as some other local beers I never see other places. The pizza is very good, as are the burgers. In addition to the regular menu, they also have a rotating chalk board menu with one-off spins on their burgers and pizza. | 76 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 15/20 Dixonian (121) Dallas, Texas | January 11, 2013 Great new bar and grill right by where I used to live - wish this place was there when I was. The owner is passionate about local beer and food - makes lots of stuff in house. The pizza is amazing - try the Ron Swanson. Nothing but TX beers on tap with lots of DFW locals. Beer dinners and special events. A great addition to our local scene. | 86 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 19/20 legion242 (107) Richardson, Texas | December 5, 2012| Updated April 20, 2013 Not much to look at inside- they really need to get rid of all the crap stuff on the walls that were obvioulsy given to them by BEK when they opened. DFH, Unibroue and Dales things on the walls and from what I could tell, they don’t serve these- that might be nit-picking, but touting yourself as serving only TX made things, these items are out of place. Was very quiet the night I went and service was good. Did not eat, just had a few beers and the music was at an acceptable level. Only 10 taps, but they are welll thought out. Will definitely go back and support what they are trying to do.
Edit: They have really stepped up their game. They got rid of almost all of the non-Texas stuff on the walls and added more taps. Almost everyday they put something new on tap and the service is as great as the first time I went. Finally ate and the food was very good. | 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 16/20 mar (65) Dallas, Texas | October 20, 2012| Updated April 20, 2013 Nice quiet and tucked away from a main highway you’ll find this gem. Only TX beer on tap and friendly staff. The food is excellent as well as the staff. Even with live music this place still is very quiet. They serve half pints as well as regular pints so live it up while you’re there. |
