Visited for dinner on a Monday. Located in a beat down suburban area strip mall. Interior is nicer than exterior, quite a bit of character and a cool L shaped 14 seat bar. Additional restaurant table seating around the room. Beer selection is 11 draft, all Texas. Also featured some house infused liquor options, which looked interesting. Great service, fun crowd good vibe. Had a good burger. Classic / yacht rock on the system.

70 = ★★½ (Locals should check it out, visitors with extended time)

I only use the total score, not the component parts.

Had the Lamb burger with Goat Cheese and house fries and a Firewheel Slow Pitch Wheat ale. The burger was fantastic as were the fries. It’s a small join but very nice and the bartender was really nice as well. Definitely worth checking out.

Visited here in late April ’15 while on a business trip to the Dallas Area. Ordinary looking place in a suburban strip mall - nothing pretentious. Warm inside though - lots of talkative friendly folks sitting at the bar; friendly, attentive, knowledgeable bartender. Had about 15 Texas beers on tap - exactly what I was looking for for my visit. Lots to choose from the Dallas area. Menu is pretty varied - lots to choose from. I had a "Dirty Cowboy" Pizza - pretty good. They have a pizza called Russian Roulette - they won’t tell you what is on it - they scrape up whatever is left in the back. The bartender said not to order it. Great place!

This was a really nice place. Sort of in a strip-mall location but once inside the ambiance was nice. Food was good and super speedy service, even on a Saturday night. Beer selection was, I believe, all Texas, and was all good to very good. Didn’t check for any bottles, but they had a number of taps. They do flights of four for between 10-12 dollars - a bit pricy for local Texas stuff. But cheaper than buying bunches of bottles at a bottle shop. Overall, a good place and worth the visit.

This is my favorite watering hole in town. The food is fantastic, the bar tenders are knowledgeable and down to earth, the servers are nice. All the beers on draft are Texas beers, and a good selection of them too. And they have in-house infusions for liquor. I always bring new friends and out of town guests to Jack Mac’s.

This is one of our favorite places of all time. A neighborhood pub kind of feel that is always comfortable for my family. Jack’s has great selection of Texas craft beer that seldom disappoints. And Jack couples first rate cooking skill with a fun creativity that is always interesting without being over the top with weirdness. It is no accident that Jack Mac’s is frequented by a lot of regulars: it is clear that Jack and Amy work to make it so. The only thing I would change is that their front door really needs to be somewhere within 100 feet of my own.

I had always heard about this place and decided to stop in for a few pints and some chow. Easy to find but can be difficult to get to in afternoon traffic. The staff was over the top friendly (asked my name and offered samples) and the food was good. The taps are all Texas but they had quite the variety.

I am a regular at Jack’s. This is based on dozens trips to Jack Mac’s over the past two years. While the address says Dallas, think of this as being in Plano. It is less than a 1/4 mile south of Plano and the George Bush Turnpike on Preston Road. They occasionally have one-off casks, as well as some other local beers I never see other places. The pizza is very good, as are the burgers. In addition to the regular menu, they also have a rotating chalk board menu with one-off spins on their burgers and pizza.
