As most agree on - worth visiting for the food selection, but not for the beer selection. The beer selection seems to quite limited, it used to be more interesting. Mostly quite common German beer, some decent Belgians and a handful of slightly "exotic" imports. Just found one interesting beer here during my visit, and that was a Brewbaker beer that I already had tried. Not the cheapest place either, but that is not a surprise. Worth a visit if you’re in the neighbourhood - or just to see the amazing food selection!

As others already have pointed out - the food selection and atmosphere is really the reason to visit KaDeWe. Beer selection is however quite good. They stock almost the complete lineups of Weihenstephaner and Andechs!

The KaDeWe used to be the largest department store in Europe, somewhere in Barcelona I believe has taken over that mantle. Posh prices for posh people, 6 floors of expensive anything and everything, a newer 7th floor has even more eating space. Floor six is the main food and drink area and what an area. The place is very classy, live fish and lobsters by the counters, champagne and shellfish bars, draught beer at some serving points, but mostly wine to drink with whatever food you wish to eat. The actual beer to take away selection and area is quite small, but no one buys beer here for home consumption surely. Most people (like my wife and I), just wander around looking and wishing we could afford to purchase something. The beer corner/stand could very easily be missed all together, it is the whole experience of the KaDeWe that people enjoy. We always took our guests here when we lived in the city. Now when we return, we still walk round, just for oldtimes sake, and still don’t buy anything!

A must go for gourmet-tourists - but not for the beer-lovers. Definitely, it´s a huge shopping center with all great kinds of food to buy or to consume right at the place. The more the beer section is boring. Not much beer enthusiasm there.

Good selection of German beers, some foreign as well. There is also small stalls where you can buy some snacks and have a beer from tap.

Although a KaDeWe department store beer selection is what we are talking about here, overall the selection is quite ok for Berlin in comparison with other shops. Their offer typical Belgians, and lagers from around the world with some bulk Germans. Depending on what you are buying, the prices are quite decent for the circumstances. They shelf trappists, Anchor Brewerym Samuel’s and most of the commercial Belgians. After seeing many other Berlin beer shops this one definitely is not the worst one, in price or selection. The German beers are mostly overpriced. The service is not good.

Huge department store with a big gourmet section. You can get there nearly everything you can imagine, an amazing diversity - but NOT if it comes to Beer ! Poor selection of commom German brands and some boring foreign stuff. What a pity !

Decent selection of foreign beers and an average selection of German beers.

Huge and really crowded shopping centre. The selection consists of mostly local and other German beers with some Belgians in the mix as well. No service to speak of. Not a place I’m likely to visit again unless I stay really close by.
