We visited this beer bar on 9.3.2014. Nice small place with a long bar and several wooden tables and benches - good ambience. Outside they have a beer garden, looking forward to come back in the summer. Around 5 beers on tap, special offer was Delirium for 35RMB - not a bad deal. Some rarities on the menu - Cantilion, etc. Food is also ok, several dishes cooked with beer. Like the Chili cooked with Chocolate Stout. Mussels seem to be a bit overpriced. Overall a very good beer bar.

This is a place with potential that has service that is so incompetent that one wonders what the owners are doing. Our experience was such dark comedy that we had to laugh as it was so pathetic. The best thing I can say about this place is that they serve beer. Wether you will actually be served any is questionable. The 5 of us walked the 30 minutes from the Renaissance Hotel in 100 degree F temperature in great anticipation of a place we had found on ratebeer.com. Inside, we found an acceptable atmosphere occupied with only one other small table of about 3 people. The single waitstaff spoke no English at all, so we pointed to the menu, which was in English. 20 minutes later we had no beer at our table. Iím not exaggerating. Twice, I got up from the table to see what our waitstaff was doing. I believe she had no idea what she was doing. I suspect the waitstaff was substituting for a friend, who did show up eventually and seemed to at least be able to pour a beer, somewhat. As for food, 1 of us was brave enough to order. 5 minutes after he ordered he was informed his choice was not available, along with many other menu items that were not available; so he ordered the burger. When his showed up, I decided to order one. I was informed there were no more burgers.
As this was a Saturday, there was a "special" of "endless" beer of about 3 different types (of which only Stella in bottles was available) between certain hours when ordered with food. But the service was so unbearably slow that you might get about 2 beers if you were lucky during this 2 hour period. And the "deal" wasnít that great.
Overpriced, overrated, unimpressive. The one person who ordered the last available burger (before they ran out) said it was a 3 out of 5.

Great Belgium beer bar in funky and fun section of Shanghai. Probably one of the better beer bars to hang out in Shanghai (The Brew is another good one). From my experience their Belgium selection is very good for China. Nice friendly people run the place. I highly recommend a visit here.

Seems larger than the other Kaiba, but itís just got higher ceilings. Unlike the other, this location has a full kitchen and does mussels-n-beer nights weekly. Happy hour weekday late afternoon/early evening. Chill, stone walls, relaxed and solid beer bar. Both Kaibas have the same beer selections (bottle and draft). When we were there they had Maredsous 6 and Vedett draft.
