70 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 14/20 Schlenkerla (203) , Austria | January 1, 2013 Located in an office district close to Lego land, inside ok, like to sit at the bar and drink a fresh Red Trolley ale. | 76 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 15/20 t0rin0 (184) La Verne, California | December 23, 2012 Stopped in once with my brother and a friend on the way back from AleSmith.
I felt bad because all we wanted to do was sample all the beers but they didnt have a flight option. So they gave us a sample of everything expecting us to buy beer and food afterwards. We didnt so I left a few dollars as a "tip" and headed out.
Service was very friendly, there were about 10 house beers on, and it’s in a beautiful area. A bit out of the way actually but still nice.
Not really a must in terms of beer stops in the general area but if you happen to be going that way you might as well stop in and try some Tower 10 or one of the experimental ones. | 68 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 Ober (57) Bommelerwaard, Netherlands | August 8, 2012 A very big brewpub and restaurant, located in an industrie area. It looks nice inside. There is a large bar were they serve their own beers. It was nice to be their and enjoy their beers. | 76 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 16/20 theisti (352) Leawood, Kansas | June 13, 2011| Updated June 28, 2012 Visited for dinner after a long day at Legoland. The interior of the restaurant is very new, and tastefully decorated. The had 8-10 of their own beers on draft, a couple of which seemed to be special / one-offs. The food was really fresh, and much more tasty than I was expecting. My family was accommodated well, and everyone had a nice time. This was certainly a pleasant surprise - recommended after a day at Legoland. | 68 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 13/20 Jabswitch (16) Green Bay, Wisconsin | April 8, 2011| Updated June 28, 2012 Nice contemporary atmosphere. Sat at the bar and ordered beer and entree. Food was good. Beer selection was OK. Nice service and entree was good. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area. | 74 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 15/20 Ungstrup (345) Citizen of the universe, Denmark | November 6, 2010| Updated June 28, 2012 My favorite brewpub for breakfast - I’ve been here twice for breakfast, longingly watching the parking lot to Legoland, but never had the time to go there, since the beerhunt has been on. A good selection of beers - 10 on my first visit and 4 new ones the year after. We’ve been lucky to be served two sets of "half" samplers - also of beers, not regularly on the samplers. Nice and good priced breakfast. The interior is pretty standard - lots of low booths and soft plastic covered benches. | 64 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 12/20 Brewman63 (39) Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania | September 24, 2010| Updated June 28, 2012 Another brewpub located in an office complex - seems to be a theme in the San Diego area. This one is located next to the convention center. All I can say is I’m glad I went to the KS in downtown first. I was less impressed with the beer here. Might be my imagination but the same beers I had downtown (Red Trolley and Oktoberfest) were not nearly as good here. Red Trolley smelled a little skunky and the Oktoberfest didn’t have much flavor at all. Completely different than what I experienced at the downtown location. The food was okay, nothing special. It’s strange that there can be such a difference between the two locations. Stick with the downtown location. | 58 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 11/20 JohnnyJ (96) San Diego, California | August 11, 2010| Updated June 28, 2012 Similar to BJ’s. BJ’s atmosphere and service, but you can only get Karl Strauss beers, which aren’t that great. Didn’t try the food. Typical pricing for this sort of place. Really nothing special here. | 66 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 12/20 IrishBoy (100) Bakersfield, California | July 6, 2009| Updated June 28, 2012 Food and service were excellent. Beers were decent and I got three new ratings. Ahi sandwich was excellent and cooked nice and rare as it should be. | 64 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 13/20 JohnC (147) Mission Viejo, California | August 1, 2007| Updated June 28, 2012 I have had dinner here a couple of times. The food is good and like the other KS’ I’ve been to, the beer is serviceable. But if you’re in Carlsbad and want a pint, head over to pizza port. |
