An English-style pub in the center of Helsinki. Nice ambiance, comfortable to sit around in and not too crowded usually. The selection is a bit low key, mostly English stuff though Brewdog and Guinness as well. One real ale pump - always in good condition though not always very interesting. The rotating taps of the Oluthuone-chain. Service is knowledgeable even if the bartenders can be a bit standoffish for non-regulars. Prices are... Well, fairly alright considering the location.

Comfy English-style pub right in the middle of the most hectic area in Helsinki. Nice place to stop at after shopping, especially if you’re heading our of town, as Kitty is located right near the metro/trai/bus station. Part of the oluthuone- chain of establishments, so the selection is usually limited to whatever has been decided by them. But with a real ale tap and now-and-then- special imports, there’s usually something interesting to be drunk, mostly from Denmark or GB. Haven’t tried the food except the ’tapas’ which is basically just grocery store cheese/olives/meats in little portions.

Comfortable British-like pub that serves well kept real ale; a Totty Pot from Cheddar Ales was on when I visited the pub in early February. The pub is centrally located, but hidden away in a building and shopping complex so I’m glad Matti pointed the spot for me. Early on a Sunday afternoon it presents itself in a very relaxing mood. Medium sized with quite a few interesting beers on taps. Polite service and Alice Cooper music. Belongs to the Oluthuone pub chain of which I had the pleasure of visiting two pubs during a Sunday pub crawl in Helsinki with ratebeerian friend Matti (mjs) (visited 06.02.2011).

Friday night, very crowded and doesn’t feel like very spacy even though it’s quite big place. Real ale on cask. After all it’s one of the SOK chain places.

A quite cosy place during daytime before it gets crowded in the evening. Lots of space and tables. Carries quite similar selection to many other in the Oluthuone chain, but always has a real ale on, and also occasionally some more special bottles. Except for beers they also have some more rare whiskies in their selection.

Passed by this every day on our way from the student union building to our workshops at the university so I decided to give it a go one day. The taps list wasn’t particularly thrilling , dominated by foreign stuff I reckon(they were pimping, like the rest of the chain, Kronenbourg Blanc), but they had the wonderful Plevnan Severin Extra IPA and, possibly on cask, RCH Old Slug Porter, which I didn’t find as thrilling, but worth trying. Good service, ok ambiance (maybe a bit too dark), nothing too spectacular but hey, why not if you’re nearby.

A nice bar close to the main Metro station and Helsinki Railway station. Nice personnel. Beer of the month available. Usually from a local brewery. One Real ale available every week. Good selection of whiskies and bottled beers. In the Oluthuone-chain of "SOK".
