I always stay at the Kilimanjaro when I am in Dar. This bar is far more expensive than the local joints but it is worth paying the premium. Beautiful sunset views over the Indian Ocean, free warm local peanuts when you order a drink, live international soccer, and interesting international clientele (last time I met Russian money minders - guys who travel with large sums of cash for interbank transfers in Africa) make for a fun evening. Outdoor seating for cool nights. Food is also available and it is good but pricey.
