86 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 thevep (3) Ontario | January 7, 2013 Three different sections of this pub result in a different experience in each of them. The bar area is quite crowded but gives a fine view of all the taps and the bartenders in action. For a fairly small town that fluctuates with guests arriving for the summer tourist season, the Village Pub has a great selection of beers on tap. It should be noted that the Goose Island Bourbon Stout has been on tap for quite a while at the time of this rating (5+ weeks) and that is a most pleasant addition to the list! | 82 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 17/20 Studentofbrrs (3) Ontario | December 20, 2012 good service, cheap and delicious wings, great selection | 72 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 SoberDave (9) Ontario | December 1, 2012| Updated February 19, 2013 Decent little tavern in the heart of Lewiston, Great variety of flavours on the beer menu, goes well with wing night Mondays! | 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 15/20 rob6239 (33) Ontario | November 13, 2012| Updated February 19, 2013 Pretty good place. It has a couple different rooms inside - the traditional bar room, and more of a family room with more tables for eating. Pretty decent selection something like 40 draft taps with a good amount of craft and micros. Had wings and calzone type things but saw some of the burgers and they were huge. Everything was good. Average value. | 70 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 13/20 rudolf (100) Buffalo, New York | September 8, 2011| Updated February 19, 2013 I went to the Lewiston Pub for IPFreely’s birthday. It has a nice enough pub atmosphere - a dark bar area, better lit seating areas along with a few pool & dart tables and a bubble hockey game. The beer selection was good - I ended up with Ithaca Flower Power, and there were certainly more than a handful of other good taps to choose from. I didn’t look at the bottles closely, but their website certainly lists some good bottled options. A lot of the stuff on the menu is standard pub fare. There is a nice beer-centric twist on a few options such as a sauce made with Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald that tops a burger or a steak. I ended up with the woodchuck cider burger - finished with a glaze made from the cider & Gorgonzola cheese. The burger came medium rare as ordered, and was tasty but a bit too big. It was hard to get my mouth around it & by the time I finished it had kind of fallen apart. Tasty but messy. This place is certainly worth checking out if you find yourself in Lewiston. | 66 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 12/20 IPFreely (143) Sanborn, New York | February 16, 2009| Updated March 30, 2009 Located on the main drag in the historic Village of Lewiston. Nice atmosphere with lots of dark wood and a decent sized back room. Not a ton of room for tables to eat at, though. The number of bottles is inflated a bit due to the amount of macros available. Otherwise, the beer selection is not bad at all with plenty of stuff to drink such as stuff from Ithaca, Brooklyn, Ommegang, Oskar Blues, etc. The guys that run the place are also the bartenders and they’re rather friendly and seem to be fairly enthusiastic about the beer (even if their knowledge isn’t up there to the level of geekdom most have on this site). I haven’t eaten anything other than the chicken wings, but they were big, meaty, and tasty as hell. This is an up and coming place, and I’m happy to see that there is finally a place to get some good beer at that I don’t have to drive a half hour to get to |
