36 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD 4/10 VALUE 2/10 OVERALL 3/20 Cobra (24) In a van, down by the river, Maryland | December 24, 2012 Stopped by mostly on a lark. Saw it on a local broadcast of local joints. Dog themed dive. I like dogs, but they take it to the extreme. Beer prices are astronomical.
$22 for a bomber I can get up the road for $10? Come on people, get your act together & stop ripping off the customers.
$6.50 for a can of Guinness?
Get real.
Won’t be going back anytime soon, unless they cut their beer prices by 75% or so. | 76 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 4/10 OVERALL 15/20 Huhzubendah (30) Washington DC | December 8, 2012 Stopped in for a brief visit recently. I was pleasantly surprised to see Goose Island Bourbon County Stout on draft, along with a variety of other tasty brews, some of which I hadn’t seen prior. Service is friendly and prompt. Nice atmosphere. The Lost Dog Cafe offers a nice selection of bottles to go. My chief gripe is the price. I paid $9.27 (not including tip) for a pint of Bear Republic Nor’Cal, a "session" IPA weighing in at under 5% abv. That’s ridiculous, and enough to keep me from coming back. I understand marking a beer up, but where do we, as consumers, draw the line? I’m not sure, but more than $10 for a sessionable brew seems wrong to me. Worth a stop if you’re in the area, but bring some cash if you’re planning on imbibing. | 64 AMBIANCE 1/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 4/10 OVERALL 12/20 502F (47) ARLINGTON, Virginia | December 19, 2010 The one score of 94 is definitely an employee or related to the business somehow. Regardless, this place is a nice beer stop. The food is good as well, but the vibe is a joke. Silly dog themed goofiness and I feel dump ordering anything of the menu--given the ridiculous names of each item--but it most certainly did have a nice bottle and draft list to back it all up. I live 200 yards away (just moved here, new house), so will be revisiting frequently, but at most its a good stop if you want a nice beer, but a silly neighborhood vibe to tackle. Very prompt service though!! But also, not a great value. | 94 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 18/20 jmc509 (1) Virginia | February 12, 2010 A small cafe bar-with friendly, neighborhood feel a couple of TV’s with sports-all-the-time. Great thin-crust pizza, sandwiches/rolls, pastas, and lasagnas, including a vegetarian lasagna. Also good chips and pickles, and their warm brownie with cream and vanilla ice cream is great. The breads are fresh and flavorful. Attentive, friendly service - but you determine the degree of engagement, nothing imposed. My wife and I love the Muttly. Oh, the decor is alone worth the visit. Check out the men’s restroom wall mural, regardless of your gender. | 78 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 15/20 radagast83 (103) Fairfax, Virginia | August 30, 2009| Updated January 2, 2012 This second location for Lost Dog apparently opened not too long ago, meaning to go there for quite some time it was just perfect that I was there. Did carry out, as one of my friends lived right around the corner. We grabbed two mixed six packs, and three pizzas. Wonderful, just wonderful. |
