84 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 15/20 hayseo (2) Louisville, Kentucky | May 23, 2013 Hundreds Of import and craft beers to select from. The service is very knowledgeable but not particularly Friendly. You can buy a beer on tap or get a chilled beer from the cooler and drink it in the store but be ready to stand, there are no barstools because this is not a bar it is a beer store they don’t want you to hang around for a couple of hours drinking beer. I like to go once every couple of weeks To find out what is new. | 88 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 18/20 theisti (357) Leawood, Kansas | April 24, 2013 Visited soon after they opened on a Tuesday. Small bottle shop with a big selection that also features a very well chosen list of 8 draft beers. The store is mostly comprised of coolers and shelves of beer, there is not anywhere to sit and chill, though you can stand at the bar near the check out. The selection here was truly fantastic, particularly Belgians, and Lambics. They had the largest variety of Fantomes I have seen in one place. Service was very friendly, wen out of their way to make suggestions, and was truly engaged with learning about what I was looking for. Once he established I knew a bit about beer, we had a nice geeked out beer conversation. Between this place and Sergios, Louisville is truly a special place to shop for beer. | 58 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 3/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 10/20 AndyW68 (17) Louisville, Kentucky | March 27, 2013 I am going to try again. The store is nice enough. Small footprint with good selection. I was either the only customer or one of two the entire time I was in the store, but felt as if I were a distraction from om whatever the employee would prefer to be doing. Maybe I caught them on the wrong day? Regardless, I will give them another chance when I find myself in the area. The store has great potential. | 76 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 16/20 wzmoore (21) Fishers, Indiana | January 5, 2013 True bottle shop (not many 6pks/4pks available). Shelton Brothers stuff out the wazoo. Small selection overall, but mostly pretty good stuff. Would like to see more domestic stuff; the Shelton Bros. stuff is, obviously outstanding, but lets not forget the enormous variety and quality that American craft brewers have to offer! The Louisville Beer Store is a solid spot though. Definitely worthy of a visit if you're in the neighborhood. | 70 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 4/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 14/20 b3shine (180) Cincinnati, Ohio | January 5, 2013 Nice bottle shop near downtown Louisville. Small but cool ambiance with a ton of bottles and some good drafts, which you can drink (as well as sample) there. Value was good too. The only thing that wasn’t good was the service; the two employees behind the counter were completely disinterested, and unknowledgeable to boot. Not rude; just in their own worlds (and s...l...o...w...). This place would be great if they reconstructed their staff, but it’s still worth a stop. | 8 AMBIANCE 1/5 SERVICE 1/10 SELECTION 1/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 1/10 OVERALL 1/20 NeoHippie2 (33) Louisville, Kentucky | November 30, 2012 This place is without a doubt the worst beer establishment I’ve ever been to. Easily the worst service I’ve ever had. Employees either don’t know a thing about beer or don’t give a shit about you the customer, or both! Prices are through the roof high. Selection is decent at best but there are so many other establishments that crush this place. I would never recommend anyone to go here. Terrible. | 72 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 4/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 15/20 kaips1 (9) Kentucky | November 19, 2012 Great selection, from bottles to taps. Prices are pretty spot on and coupled with the variety it makes a beer geek salivate. The service isnt always the greatest but i dont go into a store without doing my homework on what im looking to purchase so I dont usually ask advice from staff in most places. The size of the place kills the ambiance with the feelings of being claustrophobic creeping about when the store is busy and full of people. overall great place to stock up on great hard to find beers. | 88 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 Travlr (999) Washington, Washington DC | November 19, 2012 This small place is jam packed with beer, flor to ceiling. Amazing number of special beers that I haven’t seen anywhere else. Half a dozen or so taps, and you can open any beer from the coolers or shelves to drink in the store. Prices were on the high side, but worth it for a collection that obviously took a lot of effort to put together. Oh, and free food just started showing up, I have no idea why. Good vibe with lots of happy and enthusiastic customers just hanging out. A great addition to the Louisville beer scene. | 70 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 14/20 savnac (268) Anchorage, Alaska | November 7, 2012 Nice little bottle shop with about 8 beers on tap for pints and growlers. Service was decent but not very friendly. Decent selection but nothing I didn’t see in other parts of the state. Prices seemed fairly good. Worth checking out if you’re in the area and not far from Against the Grain. | 88 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 18/20 Advocate_Ames (27) Pennsylvania | October 16, 2012 The prices are good, the service was above average, & the selection is of good quality. This place is kind of what I expect out of a bottle shop. The prices were fair too. If I am in the area I will go back. |
