Sunday evening, decent crowd, but not crowded. Sat at a big communal bar height table. Seems like a good local scene, lots of young cool people, a good amount of piercings, tattoos, and different colored hair, contrasted with young preppy groups. Certainly wide reaching appeal which definetely plays into this being a popular local hang out. The space itself is a great balance of dark old wood and soft speakeasy lighting. Staff was very friendly, great sense of humor. 12 beers on tap, and 5 on cask, though two of the casks were out when we went. Food options inluded a good bit of variety over a very succinct menu. Went with the house pickles which that night were some daikon greens, radish tops, and carrots. All tasty. Also grabbed the rarebit, and my wife got some wings. Also all good. Beers here were fine, all clean and well executed, though a couple were not really to my liking. Nothing really stood out, everything was average to a bit above. Good pub beer, but probably not destination beer.

Visited on a Tuesday afternoon in November 2015. Iíve been here several times over the years but first visit post Rb. Itís a corner pub, plenty of tables. Had no trouble getting sat downin the nice old pub surroundings. Service was good. Sampler flight available so tried the 4 special Belgium beers and two off the standard range. Beer is Ok, nothing to shout about but do have cask beer which is well looked after. Ambiance marked down as insisted on pegging door open despite it being cold. Iíd go back as I like the Haight St vibe but itís not the best venue in the city.

A nice bar in the hippiest part of the town. At first looked a bit run down but turned out to be a very nice place to taste some beers.

My first stop on the San Fransisco Pub crawl. Friendly staff and some really interesting beers. Lots of beer geeks like myself and the brewer present to present his beers.

Lunchtime crowd was pretty sparse on a thursday. Space is pretty nice with a long bar area and tables. They were running about 12 taps when I was there, plus some cask pours. Fairly spartan menu, but what is there seems decent; I enjoyed my burger. You can pick any six of their beers for a flight of 4-5 oz pours, which is nice. Beer ranges from Meh to pretty solid, and staff is warm and friendly.

Stopped in on a Thursday late afternoon and the Hipsters were nowhere to be found. Big plus on that! The wait staff was friendly and talkative. I read reviews about the burgers and they are correct, I had one and it rocked! You can have them custom make a burger with a small selection of different toppings. The beer itself was mostly average with a few above average. However, the ales are on the standard style side of the house with the Weekapaug Gruit being more creative and different. I would say if you are in the area to visit Toronado, eat at this place first before going to the dive bar. I would return here if I was ever in this area of San Fran again based on the food and beer alone.

Corner bar in the Haight-Ashbury part of SF. The place looked run down but was packed! Food was ok and the stout was pretty good.
